Same old, same old

Cannot style hair. Also as with most African American salons in nyc, the female stylists seem angry and unfriendly. My styslist was late for my last appointment and when she came in, didn't even apologize for her lateness and barely said hello. Such a simple thing to be nice especially to new customers but amazingly enough, impossible for some. Hoping this review teaches the stylist a lesson not to take customers for granted, especially in this recession.

Sophia is the best. I've been to various hairstylist in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Long Island & NJ. Sophia is the best. She is downtown to earth and professional. She would let you know what is wrong with your hair, as well as what products to use. Once I sat in her chair, I felt very comfortable and at ease. My hair looked amazing and I got a lot of compliments. If anyone is looking for a good hairstylist sophia is the one for you.

Finally found a stylist that listens and I am extremely satisified. I have never had anyone take so much care to make sure I look my best. Sophia walked me through every step of the process and explained in detail what products, techniques and styling tools would work best for my hair. She takes her time with each client no matter how busy. An outstanding job and I don't mind coming from Central NJ to NYC. Because I am please with the results. I definitely recommend her. Thank you for a "hot" haircut/hairstyle.

Best Hairdresser In NYC

I have been getting my hair done by Sophia for a little over a year. I was in desperate need of a professional hair stylist to fix my hair problems.

After always wearing short hairstyles, I made the choice to grow my hair out and get a weave. My main concern, as any woman’s, was that my weave look real. It takes a lot to trust someone to put in your first weave, but I was extremely surprised with the outcome. Friends and family couldn’t even tell!

My first session was amazing. She was professional, talented, and extremely knowledgeable of every product she used on my hair. Sophia listens to what you want, and delivers. All of the products used are high quality and can be bought directly at the salon.

Appointments are set in advance, so you’ll never spend hours waiting in the salon, and feeling rushed when you’re turn is up. There’s also an option to make your appointment online. Sophia provides snacks and beverages, which is a huge plus. It’s a completely comfortable and stress free environment.

Pricing is definitely competitive with Manhattan salons, and you’ll regularly receive emails for her promotional offers as well.

I have personally seen Sophia do several styles and it’s safe to say she is very versatile. She can do short and long hairstyles, weaves, colors (temp-perm), and even eyelashes.

I feel lucky to have snagged a great stylist its only a matter of time before she branches out and opens her own salon.

I hope this review helps you. I’ve had so many problems finding the right person to do my hair, I promise you definitely won’t be disappointed.
