Hooray for second chances!

I never write reviews, but I do read them. I'm a new mom, a busy TV producer and that keeps me pretty occupied. In August 2011, I bought a women's haircut through a prestigious website for Pepper Pastor Salon. After I bought it, I went online to read reviews on which hair stylist I should ask for.

I saw the bad reviews for Brandi, so I called the salon & asked not to have her cut my hair. I asked for someone else but the cost was higher, and I did not want to lose money so I decided to go for Brandi.

When I got there, Brandi asked me tons of questions on the type of cut I wanted. She was a great listener. She also added her own recommendations for my type of hair & schedule. Gave me options & took mine as well. Her suggestions were right on! and the haircut she gave me was seriously the best haircut I have ever gotten.

I have received so many compliments, but most important of all, I absolutely love it!

Thank God for second chances! I'm glad I was proven wrong.

Brandi you are a gem! Thanks for making me look prettier :)

brandi needs to go to a PASTOR and ask for forgiveness!

i never read reviews, let alone write one, but i feel compelled because that's how BAD my experience was. first off, the shampoo sucked. sometimes i look forward to a good shampoo more than a good cut and this girl's massaging pressure was as weak as rain drizzle. and i've had sneezes that lasted longer. i was in the chair for literally less than 3 minutes. now let's get to brandi, my designated charity for the day. she was rude, brash, and man-handled me like a child to sit up straight or look this way or that way. um, i'm aware of the differences in directions and words would have been sufficient. she was SOOO fake in asking me conversational questions, in which, she would interrupt my answers or respond in a way where it was completely obvious she hadn't been paying attention. overall, the WORST salon experience ever, and i've been to a TON. too bad, i was looking forward to this hair experience matching the charm of the area but oh well. plenty of other great salons who deserve my cash.

My first experience at pepper's salon was a wonderful one. I was looking for a place to get my eyebrows done and a friend of mine mentioned this salon located by south street seaport. When I got there I was greeted by a friendly, wonderful staff. They asked what I needed and I told them I would like to get my eyebrows done by emma since she did a great job on my friend. When I met emma and told her how I wanted my brows done - she really listened to what I wanted. The other salons I have experienced always did my brows too thin or never shaped them well. So when emma started, she looked at my face shape to make sure they fit the brows I wanted and she used tweezers. I feel like most places do waxing or threading which doesn't work for me because of my sensitive skin + with tzeezers you can carefully select the hairs you don't need anymore. Even though tweezing might take alittle longer its worth the results that you will get from emma. As she was working, we were talking about her background experience which I also found interesting. Emma has wedding and editorial makeup experience as well! You can tell she has this unique, diverse, creativity about her. When she finished, I noticed my brows helped shape my face so much better. They were also even, shaped perfectly and not too thin. I was definitely pleased with the results! After my brows were finished I asked too see the makeup line since she knew so much about it as well. Since I have sensitive, acne proned skin she recommended this Young Blood powdered foundation. She applied it on my face and the color was perfect as well as the coverage. Overall, my experience was wonderful and will be a continued customer.

The Highlight Of My Day!

Despite living in NYC for the past couple of years, I constantly ventured back to my hometown to get my hair cut and highlighted at the salon I have gone to for the past 10+ years. Besides loyalty to my salon, I found that the value for the price far surpassed anything I had found in the city.

That being said, my attitude changed once I found Pepper Pastor Salon one day while I was walking around the South Street Seaport. I was immediately intrigued by the décor of the salon, which is classic & glamorous, but trendy & edgy at the same time. What truly sold me was the friendliness of the staff, from the girl at the front desk, to every single one of the stylists paying attention to you when you walk in.

Within five minutes of being there, I knew this place was right for me. Besides assessing my hair and asking my preferences, the stylists actually sat down and learned about my lifestyle & personality as to create the perfect look for me! I found this an amazing attribute, as many of the other places I have experienced in the past simply tell me what would look good, or what the “hottest new trend is,” without listening to my needs and wants.

Not only was the service amazing, but the experience was very relaxing! I got to slip on a robe and drink southing tea provided by Talbott Teas (amazing!). The entire experience resembled being at a spa, and it truly was the highlight of my day!

I would highly recommend going to Pepper Pastor Salon to anyone looking to get high-end results at reasonable price. Great job Pepper Pastor!

Great Atmosphere

My girlfriend started getting her hair cut there and I would occasionally stop by to see her while she was getting done up. I was impressed by the interior of the place and how friendly the staff was. Before I knew it, it became my go-to place as well. It's easy to get appointments and I never get turned away. Worth the trip!
