From The Owner of Dbgb

A chic downtown eatery from superstar chef Daniel Boulud.

What Our Expert Scouts Say

January 08, 2013

Everything about Daniel Boulud's downtown eatery sounded ridiculous: its name, its sausagefest menu, it's elaborate compound hamburgers. But guess what: it's a fantastic addition to downtown, the sausages are extraordinary, and the burgers terrific.

You can do it grand or you can have a burger at the bar but either way Boulud's Downtown homage to the punk Mecca has its street cred.

Boulud's rocking downtown gastropub.. Daniel Boulud's downtown eatery tries to bring together the world of fine dining and the world of downtown funk--and it succeeds. DBGB is Boulud's most casual restaurant, with a big bar area in the front and a menu centering on sausages, burgers and a raw bar, with a few bistro classics thrown in for good measure. The place is constantly packed, but the high ceilings keep the din from becoming overwhelming, and the service is flawless on every front. The decor is a little disconcerting, with quotes about food and restaurants written on mirrors all over the place, but given how much better it is than any of the nearby competition, that's unlikely to deter the crowds.
