i stopped in here for a late lunch/early dinner after walking around SOHO and had a great time. next thing i know it's 4 hours later. the staff is friendly and will make you feel at home. you can hide away in a corner booth or become part of the fun. make sure to let them know if you are in a hurry because you can spend the evening here... if you're not careful :)
- Pros: atmosphere, friendly staff, intimate, location, great food
- Cons: sometimes sooo busy
A great PLACE

This is a treasure in the heart of SOHO..the food was and is extrodinary each and every time we go..the atmosphere and decor is contageous..there is so much to look at..there is definitly a story we need to find out within the four walls..it is SOHO..the energy hummed with excitement as each dish was placed on our table..a thought out, well diverse spectrum of satisfaction is clearly found between the lines of this daily changing menu. I cannot emphasise enough how wonderfully delighted we have been each and every visit..its so reasonalbly priced with gems that are peppered thorough out the menu that leave you comming back for more..I give a great HOORAH! to MANHATTAN BISTRO..
its delicious THUMBS WAY UP

DESPITE OF ALL THE RUMORS OF JEALOUS PYCHOS THAT ARE PUTTING MEAN STUFF TO FIRE PEOPLE OR PUT THE RESTAURANT OUT OF BUSINESS..IN MY OPINION THE RESTAURANT HAS REALLY TASTY FOOD ESPECIALLY BRUNCH..THE BISTRO BURGER IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT!! I ALSO RECOMMEND GOING THERE FOR THE DRINKS AND WINES..IN MY EXPERIENCE THE BARTENDER WAS REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO CREATING DELICIOUS CONCOCTIONS SUCH AS THE LONG ISLAND ICED TEA, BLOODY MARYS MIMOSAS AND THE COSMOS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD!! .. I'M CONSIDERED A FOODIE AND I'M VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN GOOD EATS IN DOWNTOWN NYC. SO BELIEVE ME ITS WORTH IT DESPITE THE RUMORS.
- Pros: GREAT FOOD,AND DRINKS
- Cons: THEY ARE IN NEED OF MORE BATHROOMS
Highly Reccomend!

I don't know what the moron who wrote a review on august 12th was talking about, but i own a very succesful business in SOHO, and my clients and my self are regulars at Manhattan Bistro, the food is great at an exceptional price, and I happen to frequent the bar in which the bartender whom also is the bar manager is quick and experienced and is not Latin but Italian , German, Irish, and Polish.
Don't bother

Walking into an empty restaurant on a Saturday night should have been my first clue. The service was slower than Johnny Knoxville after being kicked in the head by a giraffe. Being one of 4 tables in a room for at least 100 patrons, this is unacceptable. And how can you be out of your signature dish (Duck L'Orange) at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night? Things just where not adding up, (except our check at the end of the evening.)
However, there are 2 redeming qualities:
1. The food was tasty (even though I had to send my steak back as it was tremendously under cooked)
2. My hard of hearing father in law could understand the table conversation perfectly as we where one of 4 tables being served that evening.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how this place is going to remain in business. I think I'll just blame it on the management. The service was so bad I can't even rate it a mediocre experience.
- Pros: Food was tasty, fairly quiet inside
- Cons: Terrible service, Sloppy Kitchen, overpriced
