AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!. I have nothing but great things to say about this hair salon. It was my first time there and I got the royal treatment. The staff is wonderful and I left there looking like a million bucks. Everyone has been asking me where I got my hair done and I almost don't want to let out my secret! I have been referring everyone to this hidden gem. The last reviewer claims she didn't have such a great experience but if you don't know what you want then how is your hairdresser supposed to know what you want? When in doubt always bring pictures. I wanted a little more snipped off so when I was asked if it was short enough I just said please take a bit more off and voila! perfect cut... My blow out lasted a while too - considering I have very fine pin straight hair ....my hair usually flattens out within an hour but this time that was not the case at all. Its hard to find a salon you trust but this place was wonderful. I took a stack of business cards & gave them out to friends....even though secretly I wanted to keep the salon to myself..... but they definitely deserve the business!

don't waste your money or energy here. I gather that Meri the stylist is great, but this salon is disorganized and I was treated horribly by the blonde stylist who never even gave me her name.

First visit in July: Thomas cut my hair, made me feel great, and told me to come back in September.

I'm busy and disorganized when it comes to cuts, so I came in October with horrible ends and a 'do that was completely out of shape. I asked if I could be seen immediately, and since there are really no records of clients, I was put in with the blonde stylist instead of Thomas. I asked her name but she never really responded, and I chalked it up to a language barrier(?).

I told her I want to eventually grow out my hair, but it needs to be reshaped and cleaned up. I even stressed that there is no rush on growing my hair out entirely, so she could take off what she needed to.

I watched quizzically as she snipped off the *very tips* of blocks of hair, but since it was wet figured that she was cleaning it up appropriately. She barely did anything to my hair. After ~20 minutes of "trimming" she blow-dried it, and gave me this bizarre '50s-something flip-do, entirely inappropriate for a 30-year-old Asian woman.

I had to run to a meeting, so didn't raise my concerns and left, pulling my hair into a ponytail once on the street. The next day I left town for a week.

Upon my return, a friend staying with me wanted a wash and blow-dry. I offered to take her to Meri and thought I'd ask about the cut. (Pictures from my week away made it clearly visible that I had not been given a proper trim --People even commented I needed a haircut!)

I walked in, asked the woman about the trim, and she began to argue with me. She kept insisting I didn't know what a good cut looked like, and it was a good cut... Also informed me that if I wanted to grow my hair out, I shouldn't cut anything off. So why then was she so willing to take my money to do absolutely nothing?

To make matters worse, Thomas and his client began laughing at the whole scene.

Horrible customer service, horrible management, and I'm headed to the BBB.

Meri is the absolute best!. I also followed Meri from her previous salon. She is amazing. I have very long, very thick hair - Meri takes so much time cutting & styling and never makes me feel like it is a hassle. She always insists on blowing it out entirely, reshaping after it's dry, and puts rollers in to make it bounce even more. And even though the initial cut is always beautiful, it seems to grow out even better. A testament to her skill - last time I left I was complimented walking home 3 times!

Simply the Best. I followed Meri from her previous salon. Not only is she a nice woman (always with a smile on her face) she does absolute wonders with my hair. I live in CT now (over a 100 miles away) and make the trip in if I have an important event to go to. I have kinky hair which she completely straightens but, more importantly, the flip she blows into my hair lasts and lasts and lasts. And she has given me the best haircuts I've ever had.

Simply the best!!!!!. It is cheap but not the salon the prices u mean....look arround people before u take cheap decisions...increase prices hahahahahaha,and yea a lot of people will thank u cause u made them curious so a tornado of clients it's coming to Meri hair,heads up gyus,cause u are doing a wonderfull job...Good luck!!!!!!!!

Amazing Upper East Side Salon. Tomascz has an amazing talent for cutting hair. Every time I leave this salon, I feel like million bucks. He takes his time during the consultation to find out EXACTLY what you want, and deliverys on it every time. I'm not sure why someone wrote a negative comment critiquing their space- I think it's absolutely adorable and since there are only two stylists, it never gets out of control in there. Therefore it's a lot more personable and relaxing from the moment you walk in the door.

Secret is out on this neighborhood gem.. Tomas is truly amazing. I followed him to Meri from another salon and his blowouts are spectacular! I have curly ,hard to manage hair and he perfectly tames and styles it in record time. My blowouts here far surpass the ones from high-end Fifth avenue salons - for a fraction of the price! I just wish I had a dollar for each compliment I receive when I walk out of Meri Salon!

Wanna be salon. This salon is a cheap shot at an upper east side salon. It is smaller than my closet, and what is up with that name? I'm sorry to say, but if you want real service this is not the place. They increased their prices and decreased their services.

Move on. You will thank me.

Simply the Best. She's simply the best. Meri has the art of hairstyling in the blod. She loves what she does. And she shows it when she styled my hair and did the make-up when I got married. I was just like a celebrity.......amazing! There's no other word of expresing the way she make me feel.

She's the ONE!
