DO NOT RECOMMEND! TERRRIBLE MASSAGE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND the massage services at this day spa to my family and friends.

we were on vacation/holiday in New York a few weeks ago (May 2011) and my husband suprised me with a Mother's Day spa special at Queen Jane Day

Spa. I had a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE and EXCRUCIATING experience, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND QUEEN JANE day spa to ANYONE who wants to be pampered.

The special entitled me to the "swedish massage" and manicure and pedicure for $119 + taxes - not exactly a bargain. However, it was a gift from

my husband and I was ready to be pampered.

The "Swedish massage" as demonstrated by the massage therapist was a "superficial" massage as she explained to me - barely touched my skin. She

was desperately trying to upsell the "deep tissue massage" for "only $10 more". I chose the upgrade option as I needed a "real" massage.

This therapist is the most useless therapist I have ever had - when using the hot towels to clean me, she treated me like I was a child being

scrubbed, with little care to my comfort level. She threw the towels on me and was so rough I almost yelled out in pain.

The massage itself was even more excruciating and horrific. She had no idea how to give a massage. I had considered either asking for another

therapist, or just leaving at that point. I didn't want to be rude so I did neither but endured the AGONY of her touch.

She then proceeded to ask me am I wearing makeup. I told her "yes". she then asked me how a I feeling. Not really sure what she was leading, I

told her "fine I guess". She then said "in that case I won't give you a head massage". Well I was speechless after that.

Her techniques are staccaoto and inconsistent. Her mannerism - that's another kettle of fish all together.

While doing my nails, the girls asked me how it was. I was so upset I told them the truth. they were sympathetic towards my experience, and

advised that I send an email to the manager/owner regarding my experience as they thought it was unacceptable as well.

In the end I didn't send the email as I was too upset, but my husband did contact Margie to express his disappointment as he had specifically

bought it as a gift for me. This is the WORST day spa and massage I have ever had.Not to mention Margie (the manager or owner) couldn't even be

bothered to respond to my husband's email to advise how disappointed he was - particuarly that he bought it for me to be pampered and looked

after.

Lash Blast. I needed a place to get my eyelash extensions done and I was a bit skeptical to try a new place however I found them off Lifebooker and off Yelp.

They're amazing! I'm on-going my second week with them and going strong. I'm going back for a touch-up in a few days and for the price they're giving away, it's such a bargain! If you're a new customer, for any services $100 and more, you can get $25 off!

BEST MASSAGE. Getting a massage was fabulous and I really enjoyed the facial, it was best massage and cleaning all in one. My skin was glowing and soft - I was so excited to get the BEST MASSAGE AND BEST FACIAL at Queen Jane Day Spa again.

My first bikini waxing experience--impressive. For my birthday my best friends thought it would be fun to give me a certificate for bikini wax, because I've never gotten one before. The idea of pulling out the hair south of the border was intimidating, but my friends thought I needed the experience. Eliza, the technician, assured me the first time is the worst. I have to admit, some areas are more sensitive than others and treating those didn't feel like a walk in the park. Eliza worked meticulously and made sure everything was gone. My skin is super sensitive and I thought I would be red and hypersensitive for at least a day after, but I only walked out with no discomfort and a little redness that went away by the end of the night. Let's just say I was impressed with the results. I'll be back.

Massage at Queen Jane--BEST in NYC. Getting a massage is one of my very favorite things; hence, i know the difference between a mediocre massage and a top-notch massage...and im able to tell what kind of massage im in for within the first 5 minutes!! Well, a friend of mine gave me a gift certificate for a massage at Queen Jane Day Spa, and being the massage connoissuer I am, i was thrilled to try a new place!!!!

So after work last night, i went for my massage appointment at Queen Jane. Stephanie was my masseuse and within 2 minutes, i knew that the next hour was going to be flawless, and it absolutely was!!!! Stephanie was incredible, as she knew exactly how to make it feel amazing, while also working on tension spots. What really impressed me was that she didnt miss a muscle--giving detailed attention to each one!

I usually like to try new places, but after my experience with Stephanie, and enjoying the atmosphere of the entire spa, Queen Jane Day Spa and Stephanie have earned a loyal customer!! Thank you so much, Queen Jane Day Spa!!

wicked nails. I came in for a manicure and the nail technician, Eva, helped me with some great tips for taking care of them at home, and then told me about uv gels to add length and strengthen them. This place makes you feel like money and their prices are really competitive for the area. Highly recommended for the man or woman who likes to treat themselves right.
