All bar food should be this good, traditional, but cleverly updated and just so delicious. If you can't get a seat in the dining room, don't fret. Carve out a little space at the bar and order one of everything, but don't miss the Scotch eggs if they're on the menu. Incredibly satisfying, especially alongside a well-made cocktail or one of the ales on tap.
April Bloomfield broke out of The Spotted Pig's gastropub mold in this equally robust but more ambitious eatery.
Located in the ultra trendy Ace Hotel the food is not for the calorie conscious. Known for all things pork...suckling pigs...English puddings and the need for a bromide. Rich, delicious and decadent.
Housed inside the uber hip Ace Hotel, April Bloomfield hits it out if the park again at this meat-centric gastro pub. The lamb burger here rules. Wash it down with a pilsner on tap.
amazing food!. the food at the breslin is amazing and restores my faith in hotel restaurants. then again it's what should be expected from the minds that brought you the spotted pig

MeatFest 2010. Popped in here for lunch and it was well worth the wait. Enjoyed a cocktail from the bar at one of their communal tables. Nice crowd, good looking staff. Started with caramel popcorn which sounds pretty run of the mill but was actually a great start to our meal. I walked around with the "Hi, My name is caramel popcorn" that comes sealed on the bag because, come on- who can resist that as a name tag for your dining companion. I had the lamb burger which was out of this world and my friend had a plate of meat which was slightly overwhelming but delish. The group next to us had these grilled cheese sandwiches that gave me total food envy despite being in love with my own plate. We skipped out on dessert, but the eye candy in the Ace Hotel was satisfying enough. Will definitely be back. April Bloomfield is a godsend to carnivores!
best breakfast ever!. Out-of-this world delicious. I had the spicy lentils with eggs, which was a strange but wonderful breakfast combo. Pastries had a faint ginger zing, but was actually cardomon, and the kids loved every bite. Skirt steak with tomatillo sauce over fried eggs was lustily latino. Even the coffee was amazing. Chef went out of his way to make sure we were having a fabulous dining experience. A bargain at twice the price!
worst service i have ever had. lived in nyc for almost 15 years and have eaten at some of the best (and some of the worst) restaurants and never have i experienced such horrible service as at the breslin. the waitress was literally brain dead, in fact tables were commiserating with each other about trying to get even a glass of water. guess they are relying only on unknowing hotel guests who use the restaurant almost as a cafeteria because no locals will ever go back to a place with such atrocious service.
Citysearch Editorial Review. The food at The Breslin stays true to the spirit of April Bloomfield’s other restaurant, The Spotted Pig, meaning it’s hearty, nose-to-tail English pub fare given the gourmet treatment. The menu is definitely not vegetarian friendly--think grilled lamb burgers, terrine boards, stuffed pig’s feet, and onion and bone marrow soup. The restaurant itself, located in the painfully hip Ace Hotel in the Flatiron District, looks like a quirky aristocrat’s hunting lodge, with about 130 seats set among rich, weathered wood details, animal bric-a-brac of all types and a worn plaster ceiling that is over 100 years old.
