“suggest the beef cheekssss they were veryy good as well as the ravioli!”
A sequel of sorts to midtown's legendary San Domenico, this more modern downtown version still features some of the Emilia-Romagnan classics for which it's predecessor was justly famous.
I have been eating at the restaurant since it was on Central Park South. I loved the restaurant then and I still love it now at the new location. I love the food, the ambiance and the warm welcome I get from the staff. The owner, Marisa May is a doll. She is the sweetest and most hospitable hostess in New York. I was also there for New Year's Eve and had a fabulous time with friends and family. The food is always so delicious and I have hosted friends there and they are always impressed. The place is always very clean and the staff now know me by name. SD26 is a home away from home for me.I highly recommend it. I give it 5 stars!!!!!*****
Great first date spot.
SD26 was where I had my first date with my current boyfriend. I could not have asked for a better experience! The atmosphere at the bar was fun and chic, and the drinks were wonderful.
At our table, the server was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. our meals were lovely (I recommend the ravioli), and the wine list on an iPad was such a unique and cool idea!
Most amazing Most amazing. The food was amazing !!!! I suggest the beef cheekssss they were veryy good as well as the ravioli!
Citysearch Editorial Review. The original San Domenico on Central Park South more or less created high-end Italian dining; this new version, renamed SD26 and relocated to the north side of Madison Square Park, tries to capture the same magic. The room is vast, with tables that are spread far apart from each other, yet all in view of the open kitchen, itself the size of a small restaurant. There's also a lounge, a cheese counter, private dining rooms and a big, snazzy bar. But the food isn't much of a departure from the old-world classics that were the stock in trade of the old San Domenico--which, depending on your perspective, might not be a bad thing.
