Tips for Blue Elm

Citysearch Editorial Review. This super slim eatery on the Lower East Side serves up internationally kissed Asian dishes in a dark wood-walled space. And while Blue Elm has just 30 seats, that doesn’t stop first daters and small groups from cramming into the slick space and slamming cocktails like the ginger-sake lemonade ($12),which pairs surprisingly well with sushi rolls such as the paradise lost ($14), made with eel, avocado and snow crab, and entrees like the black miso cod. Dishes are meant for sharing.

Very inventive fusion. Very inventive asian fusion with flavors you wouldn't expect to find that work really well and are a very pleasant surprise. We had a fish dish that has moroccan flavors alongside sushi and spicy tuna pizza. It was all delicious and the drinks were great too! The food was very reasonable and the drinks were typical NYC prices.

Yum yum and more yum. My boyfriend and I were wandering around the LES today, and as it had started to rain, we decided to pop into this restaurant for a few drinks. (The Ginger Sake Lemonade is marvelous, although I wasn't a huge fan of the large ginger chunks and lemon seeds that made their way up my straw.)

We had the tomato salad- fresh and crisp (but that's an uncomplicated salad, so couldn't expect anything less), the beef spring roll- VERY tasty (the real standout feature of this dish is the dipping sauces- a sweeter brown one drizzled over the plate and a spicier creamy one on the side), and the pan-seared scallops- melt-in-your-mouth (the textures were great and the scallops were perfect, )

The servers were very friendly and attentive, and as other people have mentioned, the space was very cosy (nice for us two ;). Will definitely be going back, with girlfriends next time!

Best of All Worlds. Wow! Thats all I have to say! Everything we had was out of this world.... melting in my mouth! We shared the kobe beef spring roll, yucca crusted salmon, and the pan-seared scallops. My last double espresso martini topped the night off! Unique food, delicious martini's, and amazing decor. Everything was perfect!

Blue Elm has it all-ambiance, delicious food, & great crowd. I went opening night to Blue Elm with a friend. We especially loved the kobe beef spring roll-I've never had such a thing and it was mouth-watering! They also have great cocktails with ingredients such as ginger and cucumber. I was impressed to see a menu with both sushi, steak and african delicacies. The Chef, Malik Fall is hands on in the kitchen while visiting tables throughout the night. Blue Elm has great ambiance, food, service & decor -i have already recommended it to many people and will surely return soon!

Great new restaurant in lower east side. the Lemonade sake cocktail was a great way to start our experience at Blue Elm and it just got better from there. One dish was better than the next. I highly recommend the soft shell crab roll, mushroom with crabmeat, and the scallops. Service was wonderful too. Loved it!

My new favorite!. I absolutely love everything about this place. It has a very warm and inviting decor (soft lighting, ladies ;)) with natural wood accents and exposed brick. The space is small and cozy- perfect for an intimate dinner. I came here with a couple of girlfriends for their opening night and we all agreed that we have high hopes for the place. I've had Chef Malik's food before, and he continues the great tradition. As always, the sushi was fresh and unique and beautifully plated. The rosemary truffle fries are still one of my favorites.

All in all, it was a great experience, and I will definitely be a frequent visitor.

A Dining Experience. Sometimes a restaurant is all about the ambiance or the scene and sometimes its all about the food. Blue Elm has it all. Eating there is an experience. Every dish is practically emotional because the combination of flavors and presentation are just so beautiful. Because we had such a large party we practically had a sampling of the entire menu. And although I truly loved everything (ie.. the truffle dusted salad, the soft shell crab, the scallops!) The biggest surprise of the night was the sushi and sashimi! I mean are you kidding me .. it was better than any Japanese place around here. Basically ... if you want a dining Experience .. go here. I simply love it!
