Cosy LES Gastropub.
A great place in Lower East Side. Just what this area has been needing, a good solid gastropub - reliable yet sophisticated, hearty yet refined, simple yet chic. The Clerkenwell succeeds where many fail, by producing fantastic food that is simple enough to evoke notions of comfort food, but intriguing enough to create the sense of something special. The rich antique decor mixed with warm friendly staff and great home-cooked food make this a winner. Smaller tables in secluded areas are date-perfect, whilst larger tables cater for groups.

Cool bar - good food to match.
I've been to this place a few times now and really like the area - it's a little bit of a schlep from the subway but well worth the walk! There are many bars and restaurants springing up nearby. Good solid, reasonably priced food with a British twist and an interesting cocktail list (was totally different when I came back 3-4 weeks later) - gets more crowded later on and becomes more of a bar scene. Great place for an informal date or dinner and drinks with friends. I'll be back...

A Real Surprise - For the Good!!.
Great neighborhood spot, food is simple and we were very surprised just how good it was. Not sure how they produce that quality for what they're charging. Really cool atmosphere in there we well and a a good looking crowd, which never hurts!!

Brit-influenced gastropub serves classic UK brews and fare..
At the current rate of expansion, every neighborhood will soon have a casually cool, comfortable gastropub like the Clerkenwell, a tiled hangout with purposefully mismatched seating, colorfully contrasting wallpaper and a faux wood-grain bar. The highly studied effect draws in famished downtowners as cool and stylish as the vintage furniture. They sip slow-poured Guinness pints and creamy bottles of Old Speckled Hen while conversing over a jazzy soundtrack. For intimate conversations, secluded window alcoves provide both privacy and unobstructed views of the Lower East Side milieu.
