There's not much difference between this outpost of the Australian meat pie mecca and the nearby original--and that's a good thing. Australian ex-pats and locals alike are sure to enjoy Tuck Shop’s classic, flaky, dough-encrusted delights. White-washed exposed brick walls and an open layout make the place feel clean, while paraphernalia like kangaroo crossing signs provide a touch from Down Under. A pleasant, familial vibe radiates throughout, as staffers bustle to bake and serve fresh pies in different varieties--from traditional ground beef to Thai "chook" (chicken) curry, lamb shank and vegetarian--as well as sausage rolls and "sangers" (sandwiches) throughout the day.
