The menu at this French-Moroccan restaurant mirrors that of the original Cafe Gitane in Nolita. The attractive, Euro-chic clientele is similar, too. Diners wearing animal-print jackets, cut-out booties and skinny jeans drink wine while munching on warm avocado toast, brie with apple, and couscous towers served with chicken, shrimp or sausage and a dollop of hummus. But this establishment is far more spacious than its predecessor. High ceilings and more square footage make it conducive to group dinners and table-hopping without bumping into unsuspecting servers. Fortunately, though, with its black-and-white checkered floor, marble bar and waitresses clad in apron-style dresses, Cafe Gitane at the Jane Hotel isn't short on charm.
