Tips for Gospel Uptown

2.0
November 23, 2010

Façade:Nice exterior, unprofessional @ conducting business. On November 20th, 2010, I had a birthday party at the Gospel Uptown. I was very displeased with the treatment i received by managers and staff, as well as how they conducted business. I rented the whole venue for family and friends and I was promised 2 hours of free appetizers for my VIP guest, which never happened. My other guests was overcharged with items(food and drinks) they never received nor requested. If you did not look over your bill, you would have been charged for food and drinks that you didn't ask for. Also, the drink prices fluctuated by the who was ordering them. Meaning, for one person it would be 12 dollars and then for another person, the same drink would be 18 dollars. The male managers and one of the owners was constantly hitting on my female guest thought out the night; very unprofessional. One female manager, Shatima Edmondson, was a pleasant person to conduct business with. She was very professional even though her hands were tied due to the owners demands.

Multi-ethnic cuisine plus regular live music acts.. Traditional soul food merged with hints of French, Indian, Asian and Italian flavors at an inviting Harlem spot.
