EXPERT DIAGNOSIS - WALKED THROUGH TO A FULL RECOVERY.
by hrbdlns at Citysearch
I came to Dr. Geraci at the recommendation of a good friend when I noticed an odd change in my handwriting that over a couple days did not go away, got worse. Karpel tunnel? Sleeping on my arm wrong? No. Dr. Geraci correctly and quicky diagnosed what had been a minor stroke, completely unnoticed on my part..
What immediately followed was five unexpected days in the hospital, making sure a small stroke did not become a major one as a series of tests and harrowing major surgery were undertaken. With bad news a possibility, Dr. Geraci walked me through every step of the way, what it meant and what might be done. As test results began to come in, again he explained "what might be next" as well as "what it wasn't."
Ultimately Dr. Geraci's original diagnosis was absolutely correct. A minor stroke. Not a tumor. Not an abcess as other doctors had thought. At his direction, a month of physical therapy and care lead to recovery and full use of my upper right arm and leg that weeks before had gone completely limp.
Throughout this experience, the worst of it was the "what if". Dr. Geraci explained what "might be" meant in a kind, complete and simple way without drama or false hope, as we waited for a definitive diagnosis. I'm certain that my recovery was due to his expertise and uncomplicated support.
I have been HIV+ for 16 years. While this had nothing to do with the stroke, I have moved all my health care needs to Dr. Geraci and Dr. Carpenter. Thorough, one-stop health care. Now if they only had a personal shopper....
- Pros: Considerate, committed care.
- Cons: None. Absolutely none.
WITHOUT QUESTION THE BEST
by scobar123 at Citysearch
I got nowhere bouncing from doctor to doctor and rude
receptionists, too. Found Dr. Geraci, who from the moment Andrew looked at me and said, "You must be in terrible pain. I can't even imagine" to the way Dr. Geraci stuck with me through a very long narrowing down process.
My pain was so constant and anguishing that I thought "I can't live like this!"
Dr. Geraci never gave up, and now I am controlled with
the right meds and back at last to my LIFE. Also, he recently, with very little notice, saw and diagnosed my best friend (with a stroke) on the Friday before the Labor Day weekend, got him in the hospital, stayed with it despite other "specialists" mistakes, and now Tom's recovery is complete, in just a few weeks.
Dr. Geraci is smart, funny, compassionate, responsive in person AND by email. Truly the best full-service office I have ever had the good fortune to experience.
- Pros: Beautiful space, kind staff, BEST HEADACHE SPECIALIST
- Cons: Only Con---That Dr. Geraci isn't TWINS
It saved my life

I have been a Spanish patient of Md Geraci for the last 2 ½ years. After seeing many doctors in my own country I was referred to him by a colleague. I could not get a diagnosis until I went to his office in NY. He literally gave me my life back after years of constant pain. His treatment for Hemicranea continua was accurate and 100% efficient. I can’t thank him and his team enough for his efficiency and kindness.
- Pros: all
- Cons: none
