Small space, big taste.
The flavors are really good and the portions are decent for the price. It's conveniently located close to the subway, the staff is friendly, and even when the lines are long you get served quickly. I like coming here when I'm in the area and then eating in the park.

Perfect Grab and Go Spot.
I used to live in California and taquerias are everywhere. When I moved to New York, there was a hole in my heart that neither Choipotle nor Qboba could fill. I missed that authentic flavor that was only available in Cali. That is, until I tried Dos Toros.
The dishes are simple, but the flavors are true to those found in original taquerias: smoky, spicey, and sweet all met in my mouth to tango on my tastebuds. Best. Burrito. Ever.
My only complaint? The restaurant is small and there is no room to sit and enjoy my treat. Will it stop me from going back? Of course not. I just wish it were larger.

Long lines.
After waiting 15 minutes on the line during lunch, it was finally my turn to order.
I ordered the quesadilla carne asada (it was more like a burrito, the steak was tough and wrap too doughy), soft taco pollo asado (chicken very tender), carnitas (pork) plato (the black beans overwhelmed everything else) and the chips & salsa.
It didn't sound like a lot of food for two people but it was.

Citysearch Editorial Review.
Often packed with NYU kids and lunchtime office workers, this little Cali-style Mexican eatery is more stylish than it needs to be, with rough-hewn wooden stools, a red wall with the visage of a bull and brick-and-leather detailing. This independent addition to chain-happy Union Square helps freshmen get those 15 pounds via offerings like hefty burritos, crispy (read: deep-fried tortilla shell) tacos and juicy carnitas quesadillas. The two owners hail from the Bay Area in California, and pride themselves on butchering all of their meat in-house and serving organic, local chicken.

Gordo Finally Hits New York.
Those of you from the Bay Area know three things: 1) Arnold Schwarzenegger barely knows English; 2) the Oakland Raiders are the worst team in football; and 3) Gordo Taqueria has the best burritos on the planet.
Well, now you can get the same burritos at Dos Toros, the brand new NYC iteration of Gordo's, right here in the Big Apple! The burrito wraps are steamed and packed with steak or chicken, and will literally change your life. The one problem -- a LOT of people have already had their lives changed; there's usually a long line out the door, and the place stopped delivering because they couldn't keep up with the sheer number of orders they were receiving. Be smart, go at an off time, and enjoy!
