Shoe Woo's loud, fanciful decor--there are bright pops of color throughout, in addition to a pillar of real shoes dipped in white acrylic paint and an eight-foot, rhinestone encrusted, high-heeled shoe hanging from a purple wall--may feel like a candy store, but these sweet items won't cause tooth decay. Seat yourself on a hot pink velvet sofa while a perky sales person tends to your feet. The midtown shop was conceived by the Jones Apparel Group as a way to merchandise its varied brands (which include Nine West, Rachel Roy, Enzo Angiolini, Joan & David, AK Anne Klein, Boutique 9 and Bandolino) under one roof. Whether or not you walk away in a new pair of shoes, it's worth a visit just to experience the whimsical space.
