Good Soul Food. I'm usually not a huge fan of soul food but their food is good. I enjoyed eating their ribs, cornbread, and macaroni & cheese.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Charles Gabriel, New York’s reigning king of fried chicken, is back after someone drove a car through his old restaurant housed in the adjacent storefront. The flagship eatery of his mini soul food empire, Charles' Country Pan Fried Chicken is not exactly easy on the eyes, but you’re here for the food, not the ambiance. Perch at one of the modest wooden tables and nosh on his famous fried chicken, which is meticulously fried in a gigantic cast-iron pan instead of a drop-in-and-forget-it deep fryer, or try the $11 all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, which boasts black-eyed peas, collard greens, okra, squash and mac 'n' cheese alongside his signature chicken.
