“The lighting and decor give off a nice relaxing, almost upscale vibe.”
“great place for a work happy hour”
Decent. Live close by this spot. Nothing bad, nothing too good tho either. Guinness is good but no real interesting beers. Food ok.
Apparently I was the only one who read the reviews. No one was there. What a waste.
great experience. My friend and I went here Friday night. It was my first time in New York. The bartenders were very wonderful and propmt and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent and I will go back the next time I come to the city.
Rude, horrible, and slow. Went there two weeks ago and the waitress was completely clueless, slow, and rude. My friends and I went the entire meal without being able to order a second round of drinks as our waitress was nowhere to be found. Finally, after about an hour without any contact from her, I had to track down another staff member to get our check. 20 minutes later our check arrived - the waitress was sure to return about 1 minute after that to collect payment, though. My gf wanted to go there a week later so I thought I'd give it a second chance. Different waitress, exact same experience - only this one screwed up the bill (no apologies of course). The sad part is the food is actually pretty good, but due to the rude staff I'll never step foot in that place again.
Dont Bother!. I went there on a saturday night and asked my girlfriend why it was so slow. In the first 15 minutes we were there we found out why. We walked in and sat at the bar and after several minutes we were rudely tapped by the bouncer, asking to see our IDs. The bartender was a tall bald guy who treated us as if he was doing us a favor by serving us. There was a large party in the dining room and he was having trouble keeping up with making their drinks that he never spoke a word to us. Even to ask us what we were having, he shifted his eyes back and forth at us until we told him. Do not waste your time, there are plenty of other places around!
good food, rude and terrible staff. Went there numerous times, and every time the wait staff is rude, slow. We asked the hostess to order, she said she wasn't a waitress, would get ours, and our waitress showed up about 10 minutes later...and the place wasn't even busy. The burgers are good, good sized, however the staff is so terrible and slow, would think twice about going back again.
cold beers, good wings, plenty of eye candy. My collegues like to go to Vertigo afterwork but I think it's better on Fri and Sat nights. The bar is usually filled with groups of chicks on the weekends. I especially like the fact that we never had to wait for our drinks. As soon as we are done, someone comes by with new drinks. Magic. Most of the waitresses are pretty hot -- without being pushy or pretentious which is key. I dont know what they do in the winter but the entire front of the bar is open, so it almost feels like we are outdoors.
good times, good times. I have been to Vertigo many times, actually almost every friday happy hour and not sure why the negative reviews. The food is good, my favorites are the shrimp flautas and cobb salad, as well as burgers and wings. The hostesses always greet us with a smile and seat us in our usual table, if available. If not, she make sure we're comfy. The purple haze martini is really tasty. Honestly, the only negative thing I have to say is that on some nights, it gets too crowded. If you plan to go with a big group, it's a good idea to make a reservation for the back lounge area.
friendly staff, great happy hour specials, nice vibe. My friends and I went to Vertigo on a Friday night and had a blast. We chose this as a meeting place since many of us live in the area. It turns out that they have a great happy hour-1/2 priced appetizers and cheap drinks--so we stayed longer than planned. Soon enough, the dj started spinning some really fun tunes and before we knew it, it was midnight. We scratched our original plan to go downtown and we ended up staying at Vertigo the entire night. The waitresses were really friendly and efficient. Drinks were yummy, especially the mango mojitos and lychee martinis. Food was pretty good too. We'll definitely be going back.
avoid. My friend and I were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by last Thursday night. Service was slow and it was EXTREMELY COLD inside. I ate dinner with my jacket on, very uncomfortable. The owners and management should really invest in HEAT. The staff was inattentive. Don't waste your time or money going there.
