Bronx >Delta Moving Services
“Polite people, bad experience”
“the man isacc was very nasty and rude then after that they promised me a discount then they said they would reinburst me for my troubles i gave them my deposit and know for me to get my stuff delievered they want to charge me more money and they pretty ”
Delta Moving = Big Time Fraud.
My wife and I had a similar experience to others here. Delivery was two weeks later than promised with no word from the company until the night before. That's when they also mentioned that our goods weighed more than the original estimate and we'd have to pony up an additional $500 before they would deliver our stuff. We called their bluff however, and I exercised my right to have the truck re-weighed in my presence before and after delivery to determine the actual weight. No surprise to me to find they were flat out lying when they claimed our goods weighed more than expected. In fact, they actually weighed 200 lbs LESS.
We ended up filing complaints against these crooks with the US DOT, NY Better Business Bureau, and American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA). AMSA proved to be a lifesaver in helping us understand our rights and get our goods delivered without getting taken to the cleaners even more.
This company's business model is 100% reliant on consumers not knowing/understanding/exercising their rights as specified by the US DOT. Don't let them do this to you. Stay Away.
I've also noticed - as with another comment here - they do business under several names. I'd be wary of any moving company from Longwood Ave. in the Bronx. Make sure any mover you're considering has been certified by AMSA's ProMover program. And if you see this logo on the mover's website, make sure you verify they are listed as such on AMSA's ProMover website. We found Delta was representing themselves as ProMover certified, when in fact they were not on AMSA's list.
WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
This was the worst experience of my life. They changed the moving date 3 times. Didnt have room to move all my furniture and had to come back twice. They lost half my furniture. Damaged the rest. If there are any good reviews here I am fully confident they were made by the company itself. This was awful. I filed a claim in June 2010. It was deemed that they did rightfully owe me money. It is now April and I still have not received my check. Everyone there is rude. I have been put on hold for hours. I am supposed to get this "check" from "susan" who still has not answered ANY phone calls or returned any calls. I am now taking them to small claims court to get my money!!!
WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lies, bad customer service, damaged & missing items. I used Delta to move cross country. They promised service and a timeline they did not follow through on. When my things finally arrived, there was extensive damage and my Bose speakers were missing. They referred me to the Claims Processing Center, their “independent” claim processer. After getting estimates, it would cost me about $3900 to repair the things they damaged (they broke the solid wood frame of my sofa and left gouges in just about every piece of furniture they moved). Despite dozens of calls and several letters, I still cannot get a response to my claim from Delta or the Claims Processing Center. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the NY State Attorney General. Stay away from this company!!
Stay Away. Stay away. My experience was very similar to other negative posts here. They are #1 crooks. They are really nice when you call the first time and will trap you with a low offer. After you make a deposit, you'll know their true color. I didn't get the amount they overcharged until I threatened to go to the authorities. I never got my lost items or compensation. They take advantage of the fact that we are busy people and don't have time to go to the authorities. Please stay away.
DO NOT USE!!.
These guys are con artists, plain and simple. Nick is completely delightful on the phone, assuring you in every way of their professionalism. I discussed at length that I would agree to leave the deposit, but that I may have to cancel the service. We discussed the cancellation time repeatedly, and I was assured that if I cancelled 72 hours in advance, I would receive a full refund.
I cancelled over a week in advance, and it`s now been over two months during which I was again repeatedly assured that my refund was being processed. And now, I just received an email from my bank (I disputed the charge), stating that the merchant had claimed the charge was valid.
In short, these guys are petty criminals. I will be filing a small claims action shortly.
VERY SATISFIED!. Exceptionally proffessional!!! Would like same movers if i use Delta in the future.
They made me feel comfortable, not stressed. I am writing this review to let you know what a positive experience i had with my move by Delta from Dunlap. TN to Bloomington, IN. The crew that you sent was wonderful. In addition, to beng excellent at their job, they were jst good people. It was a very uncomfortable situation at the house in DUnlap and i felt safe with them being there.
Quick and Easy. (and Painless). Really appreciate the work that Kenneth did. He really helped today! It was quick and easy!
I most certainly would use them again.. My experience was wonderful from the beginning. When the moving team arrived they were on time and proffessional. They were pleasant and worked quickly. No suprises at the last minute or hidden charges. I'm sure the last of the move will be just as wonderful. I am moving to FLorida from New York and i would most certainly reccomend. It was pleasant and calm experience.
HORRENDOUS!!!. The worst moving experience! From beginning to end this companby fails in all areas. Misleading quotes, rude and offensive employees, late pick-up, damage to furniture, smell of mold on furniture and boxes, worst customer service I have ever experienced and erroneous charges.
