Citysearch Editorial Review. Soft lighting and candles welcome the shopper to Albertine General, the third of Kyung Lee’s boutiques in the West Village (the others being Albertine and Claudine). The space that formerly held the Oscar Wilde Bookshop has been renovated to look like the most perfect downtown apartment; a massive fireplace, found during renovation, is a focal point in the clutter of beautiful objects. Super-friendly employees are willing to explain the back story behind antique and reworked vintage items like gorgeous old-fashioned etched stones, manly smoking tobacco cases and delicate stud earrings. The constantly changing inventory makes for new discoveries every visit.
