Great Service, delicious food!. My girlfriend and I went to Bar Henry last Thursday to take advantage of the last day of BlackBoardEats 30% off promotion and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious (if a little small on the entree proportions) and the staff was friendly and professional. We did have to wait 20 minutes in the bar for our table in spite of making a reservation, but when we were finally seated, all was forgiven. Although the room seemed clearly understaffed (one waiter and one busboy for the whole place), our waiter handled the situation without breaking a sweat. All the tables were occupied, but he treated us like we were his only table. The sommelier was exceptional and suggested the perfect, spicy French blend, a natural wine, that went perfectly with our steak and mussels (with lemongrass and coconut milk...yum!). We are glad to have discovered this place and will be back!

Amazing Service and Food. We came here for a friend's birthday party and the food was fantastic. Not to mention, the service was stellar - they went above and beyond to be accommodating in every way and were personable and friendly. Great cozy atmosphere as well - love this place!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Don’t be misled by the neon sign marking the entrance to this old-world New York bistro. Unlike other subterranean spots, the dank, dark feel adds character to the underground wine den, which oozes class without any trace of pretension. Located in the cellar of a 19th century townhouse, Bar Henry’s antique decor is comprised of an original tin ceiling, checkered marble flooring and a 100-year-old mahogany wood bar. The menu features hearty American fare such as LaFrieda strip steak, Niman Ranch pork chops and roasted chicken. The wine list, designed by John Slover of Grand Cru Wine Consulting, completes the old-world theme.
