Zeppole in the City. After a long day of eating and walking around the city, my friend suggested dessert at Led Zepole. I could not believe I had not heard of a place that sells fried dough in Manhattan! It is the convenience of fried everything without bikers running you over on a boardwalk. The zeppoles and fried oreos come in a bag doused in powdered sugar. The fried oreos are my favorite. Great after dinner spot!

There is perhaps no better way to top off an evening of drinking or eating thick slices of Sicilian pizza than with a hunk of funnel cake or a fried Oreo--at least that’s what the brother-owners of late-night favorite Artichoke Pizza were hoping when they opened Led Zeppole a few doors down. The eponymous zeppole is a spaceship-shaped bit of fried dough; vanilla-cream stuffing or maple syrup-drizzle is optional. For those who can’t handle the dough, Italian ices and ice cream, in flavors like pancake and peanut butter and jelly, are also available.

Thanks God for Zeppole. Sometimes you just have to let yourself go. It is late and you are tired so you might as well eat some Zeppoles and get some sugar high!

I tried their Fried Oreos, fried Zeppoles and Fried Canoli and OMG, I felt like in heaven. The Oreos melted in your mouth and the Fried Zeppoles are amazing with the syrup. You have to absolutely try it, not necessarily after 3AM but you might not feel the guilt at that point :)
