This is a great salon, talented stylists and friendly atmosphere. Justin has been cutting and coloring my hair (cut and color) for over a year. My hair has never looked better...highly recommend!

Put a Little Color in your Life!. The space has been remodeled but the service remains the same...100% top notch! Everyone is friendly and so helpful., from the owner to the shampoo/scalp massage assistants.



Being a man, when I started to go gray I thought, "Oh great...how distinguished!" The reality though was it made me both look and feel older. I knew I didn't want to fool around with all those drug store concoctions. I'd heard too many horror stories of strange greens and undesired reds from women I know to steer clear of all that. But doing anything to my hair, even cutting it, was always a traumatic process. That was until I met Kristen. She is a total color genius. I was apprehensive at my first appointment but now I so look forward to seeing her. She totally makes you feel at ease, finds out what you want, and then tweaks it, giving you the complete benefit of her knowledge and expertise. I feel so comfortable and confidant in her hands now, knowing when she is done I'll have successfully once again turned back the clock . Kritin is not a colorist... she is an artist: her palate -the dyes she uses and her canvases - the heads of her clients. I'm so pleased to be one of her "masterpieces."



At a dinner party recently a woman who was sitting next to me said marvelling, "Not a gray hair on your head!" Yes, that's the general idea. I also had a "fight" in my office right after I started going to Kristen with someone who didn't believe my hair wasn't natural. Why in the world would I admit i was having it colored it I wasn't?



Do yourself a favor. If you're thinking of starting the coloring process, unhappy with your current results, or maybe just in need of a change,make an appointmnet to see Kristen immediately. You won't be sorry!

Great colorist, Great relaxing friendly salon!. I've been going to Kristen Traina for a few years and no matter where I go, I always get compliments on my color...including from other stylists! Besides being amazing artists, they really make you feel like family. It's a great relaxing experience with great results!

definitely go there. Everyone knows that Kristen Traina is an extraordinary colorist, she used to be at Insitu and moved over to Bloom over a year ago. But what I want to tell you is about her extraordinary character, the person underneath this magnificent woman exterior who understands beauty and how to help you achieve it. Last year when I was unable to come to my saturday appointment in prime time due to illness, i sent in a check to her(and to Paula, who cuts magnificently at Bloom--a very special talent) because i knew they couldn't reschedule anyone else at that last moment, and Kristen and Paula sent me the check back. Can you believe?

A new place but the same great color and service!. With Kristen Traina’s move from Insitu Salon to Bloom Beauty Lounge, it was a no brainer to follow her. Though I loved the Insitu Salon, with its friendly staff and big beautiful windows, I was happy to find some familiar faces and equally nice new staff. The friendly atmosphere has continued at the new locations.

As for Kristen as a colorist, she is amazing. We’ve changed up the color a little bit here and there, depending on my mood, but it always looks natural and fabulous. In fact a few days ago I ran into a former co-worker and the first thing she said to her friend is “that is the color hair I want”. I’m a natural brunette and Kristen always gets the tone right, not too cool, not too warm and never mousy.

Anyone looking for a good colorist should give her a try.

colorist-kristen traina. Kristen Traina has been my colorist for several years.

I followed her from her prior location to Bloom Beauty Lounge.

She is a caring professional who listens to what you want and gives you advice on how to achieve it.

Over the years I have wanted to highlight my hair. When using other colorists, I always ended up with roots and more maintenance that I am willing to commit to. ( don' t have the time, patience or $$$$$. )

Ultimately, I always ended up just covering up the highlights.

Well, Kristen listened to what I said and was able to achieve a look that work with my cut AND required much less follow up . Actually, I was able to enjoy the fun look of hi lites and just let them grow out. That was the BEST : ).

One time when I was unsure if I could "carry" the updated look I had requested, she told me to live with it a little while come back if I was unhappy. Luckily, I NEVER had to go back. Trying something new is always scary. I ended up loving it. I got many compliments.

Kristen - the best color at Bloom Beauty Lounge. It has been 4+ plus years since Kristen has been coloring my hair and it always looks the best. I receive many complements on the color and how natural it looks. Kristen picked the best color for me ! Everyone in the salon is friendly and service always great..

Fantastic style and color at Bloom Beauty Lounge. Visiting Bloom Beauty Lounge to have your hair styled by Paula and colored by Kristen is a fabulous experience! Since I have curly hair, I have spent many years looking for people who understandd the artistic and technical necessities of working with curly hair. I have found them at Bloom with Paula and Kristen. Paula listens to what you really want and she is very gentle with her suggestions for your style. The style lasts for weeks, and your hair stays beautiful through the weeks until your next cut. Paula is both fun and elegant and she makes you feel better just by being in her presence.

Kristen Traina is a fabulous hair colorist who will give you a natural, beautiful color that lasts. The color is rich and it doesn't fade. She is a great artist of color. In addition to being a fantastic colorist, she is also wonderful to talk with. She is a great person!

When you arrive at Bloom, you are cared for immediately. You will not be kept waiting. Every person who works at Bloom is friendly, warm and helpful, including the receptionist. Rena or Nadia will give you a fabulous shampoo with an unforgettable neck and scalp message. When you leave Bloom, you feel special because your hair looks beautiful and because you have spent time in the presence of such amazing people. Go to Bloom Beauty Lounge for a special experience. The name of the salon is apt because you will be "blooming with beauty" when you leave the care of these warm, artistic, talented people.

The best colorist in the city. Thank goodness I followed Kristen to Bloom Beauty Lounge in Chelsea. My reason - I always am thrilled with the warmth of color and perfect matching of her choice with my skin color. I have often been stopped in stores, restaurants and even the street with people admiring my hair color and I happily refer them to Kristen who so capably takes care, time and thoughtfulness in studying my color needs as they change with the seasons. As well she has a great personality, is always on time and attentive but the fun bonus - she has a tremendous sense of humor! What a fun hour experience with her - she is terrific!

Kristen Traina is a great colorist!. Kristen Traina has been my colorist for years. I am never sure what color highlights I should use for each new season. She gives great suggestions and makes my hair look great. I always get compliments when about my hair color. Besides her great talent she makes me feel so comfortable. Before my wedding I went to Kristen to put highlights in my hair, I knew I was in good hands. She also did my make for my bachelorette party and the day of my wedding! It looked great in pictures. Even though I moved out to long island I still come into the city to go to Kristen because she is worth it!
