Awful attitude, total ripoff – This was a terrible experience. Eddie has an awful attitude, he is constantly distracted and he doesn't care about his customer base. The service was completely not worth the price either - the haircut was poorly done, the Brazilian Keratin treatment is the worst I have ever experienced and absolutely overpriced.
Go anywhere but here.
Seams like you were only looking for a deal. 2 of my employees were on vacation. Maybe you were in a bad mood? Just because you write in on Citysearch doesn't make it true. My long term paying clients NEVER complained. How about the stylist writing a review on our experience with you?
Best haircut in NYC! – Firstly this is the first time I have written a review on anything, but I have been looking for a hairdresser in NYC for 13 years and have been so dissatisfied that I only get my haircut back in Europe. But I walked past Salon Spin, and for some reason decided to give it a try, it had some good reviews and I liked the location (yes, that's odd but true).
I love it! Eddie actually listens to you and discusses what you want. He then cut my hair how I wanted. And the best thing of all--the sign of a really good cut--it falls into place when I wash it myself. So barely any styling required. Will go back and would def recommend to anyone else.
Salon Spin is Amazing!!! – I've been getting my hair done by Eddie, who now owns the ultra cool Salon Spin in the LES, for 4+ years! He's always been extremely attentive, kind and is definitely one of the most talented hair stylists that I've been to in NYC. I'd highly recommend Salon Spin for anyone looking for natural looking highlights and amazing haircuts (that last!) at a reasonable price. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Eddie Brightens up the East Side – My hair color had been ruined by my regular stylist who wouldn't take responsibility for it. I was desperate. I googled "top nyc stylist/colorist" and found Eddie in a SOHO salon. He calmed me down and assured me that he could fix this. He was proffessional, confident and skilled..... it was the first time my hair was in the hands of an artist. He made me more than presentable at that first visit. Each time after that he brought my hair to a new level. That was 3 years ago when he was working for someone else.
Now he has his own brand new place, on the other side of Bowery, in the LES. Of course I followed him there, as it appears most of his other clients did. Its a less gentrified, hipper neighborhood. Lots of young stylish people abound. The new shop is gorgeous and chic. Clients are never rushed, and he often provides amenities. In fact the name Spin refers to his other talent as a DJ. The music sets a wonderful vibe. I wish him lots of luck with his new place. If you have any reason to be less than thrilled with your current stylist you should definitely give him a try. You will be amazed. And his prices are lower than most places with his level of service, Check him out. You wont be sorry.
Eddie Saves the Day – After trying a few other salons and stylists around Manhattan and Brooklyn, I was luckily referred to Eddie, and I honestly wouldn't bother going to anyone else in this city with my hair again. So happy for him that he now has his own salon! He really listens to what I want my hair to look like and the cut is always flattering. It's evident he not only has tons of experience and knowledge, but he really cares about his clients and his work.
My last visit is a great example of this. I asked Eddie for color correction after having some less than satisfactory experiences at other places. I had gone to a trendy and somewhat expensive salon and asked for an all-over red/auburn color, that was a total disaster, even after I went back and asked the stylist to correct it. Eddie spent an entire afternoon with me to do the correction and it looks amazing! I have really long hair and it was quite the task to remove layers of black and red, then add color, a really lovely, natural golden brown. In addition to all over color, he did some low lights and highlights that make the color multi-dimensional, not that flat, obviously dyed look. It is so pretty in the sun. The cut was great and I have never been so happy with my color, ever! And all this for an extremely affordable price.
Eddie is a true professional and so nice too! This salon is a great choice if you want to be sure the quality of the services will match the price. I joined citysearch just to write this review.
Talented, Reasonable and Fun:) – I went to Eddie for a color correction a few months ago. He did an amazing job and I have been going back ever since. He blends the highlights so nicely and in such a way that I feel my hair looks both sophisticated and natural.
His new salon is very clean and modern and he plays fun music. Eddie is very friendly and accomodating and I like that he is the only one touching my hair throughout the entire appointment...very hands on....its a great experience overall:)
