I have been a patient at Wall Street Dental Spa for years and I think it is an amazing dental office. The staff is always warm and friendly and also extremely accommodating. The office itself is beautiful, warm, clean and the equipment is state of the art. Dr. Leone is warm and friendly and extremely gentle as well as precise and thorough. She explains everything she is going to do and she is truly a "painless" and amazing dentist. I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Chen .She redid a crown of mine that I had done years ago in another office and her work was truly great. She was extremely thorough and precise as well as very gentle and caring and also painless. The crown feels perfect and I can finally chew on that side of my mouth again. I am so grateful for the treatment I have received at this office and the care I have been given. It makes going to the dentist enjoyable! Truly a fantastic dental experience!!!
Second opinion required prior to a procedure – I had been a content Wall St Dental Spa patient since 2007 - primarily with Dr. Leone. The office was referred to me by two colleagues as I needed a dentist in close proximity to my office at the time. I had found Dr. Leone to be dedicated and thorough. However my last treatments late in 2011 proved to be needlessly painful and costly. A few weeks after performing a “retreat” on an existing crown (by Dr. Blumberger at the recommendation of Dr. Leone), the area was still inflamed and painful. Dr. Blumberger then informed me that the crown and roots needed to be extracted, explaining that there are “no guarantees with a retreat.” Dr. Leone deferred to Dr. Blumberger in this assessment, and did not re-examine the crown post retreat. I sought a second opinion with my original dentist within my home community, who upon x-raying the crown stated that it should have been extracted when it became a problem – and that the “retreat” was unnecessary since there was no root left that could have supported a post. I understand that mistakes happen – but this appears to have been avoidable. It needlessly cost me a few thousand dollars and only prolonged the situation. Get a second opinion.
GET A SECOND OPINION OR BETTER YET- GO TO ANOTHER DENTIST!
I came here for a regular dental exam and cleaning because it is a very convenient location and the reviews online are mostly very good (although all the glowing reviews are oddly similar and vague). I have no complaints about the cleaning, but afterwards, I met with Ms. Leone's partner dentist who told me I need almost $5000 worth of dental work ASAP, including full and partial crowns, a root canal, and SIX fillings. I was very surprised because at my last cleaning and exam, the dentist said everything was OK. I then went to get a second opinion and third opinion (and even paid again out of pocket for better X-rays after giving the Dental Spa $25 for a copy of the ones they took), and both dentists said I definitely don't need a root canal or anything else besides 2 small fillings costing under $200 without insurance and $40 with insurance.
Beware! Make sure you need the dental work done! – I always trust my dentist. Is that not the nature of doctor/ patient relationships, is it not? So, when, after my second cleaning visit, the dentist came into the room and told me I needed at the very least a crown , and probably a root canal , I was prepared for the worst. "Let's get at your insurance! " she said. They gave me the estimate(discount for posting a positive review on citysearch!) and this seemed more painful than the prospective dental work. I decided to check another dentist as the prices seemed very high. Upon going to a local dentist in my town , who quoted crown work for half the rate Wall Street Dental Spa did, I was floored. The local dentist laughed and said "who told you that you needed a crown and potentially a root canal?". I got a filling. Yes a filling! Make sure you really need to have the work done, and not just let this woman "get at your insurance". No wonder insurance rates are so high in this country! I have recommended a number of people to this office because of convenience to our workplace . I take back this recommendation. If I could give it zero stars....
Great FiDi Dentist – Was able to book a same day apointmant at the Wall Street Dental Spa right during my lunch time. After filling out the proper forms they escorted me to one of the rooms where they had a tv where I could watch sports center and what not while I waited for the Dentist. Both Dr. Leone and the hygensist were very pleasant. They seemed liek hey enjoy what they do and were happy to help me. I've had a lot of dental problems in my life so I've seen many a dentist and have been to many a dental office; this is the number 1 dental office I've been to and top 3 dentists. I've only had the one apointment so maybe Dr. Leone could move up to 1st after the next time.
Manhattan's Best and Most Modern Dentist! – Even before arriving at Wall Street Dental Spa, it was clear that this was going to be a positive experience! Upon making the appointment, they sent me an email confirming the time and date. The email contained a link that allowed me to add the appointment to my calendar directly from my iPhone (I assume this would also work on Android or Outlook). Two days before my visit, I received a text message (not a phone call), asking me to respond “yes” to confirm the appointment time. Brilliant! No annoying phone calls to take (and probably miss) while I am at work. More doctors should incorporate these conveniences of modern technology into their processes.
When I first walked into Wall Street Dental Spa, I truly felt like I was arriving at a high end TriBeCa spa (and I was shocked that such a place would be covered under my standard insurance). Lights are pleasant and dim, furniture is high-end and modern, and candles are aplenty (albeit the battery operated variety). This is like no dentist office I have ever seen (and that's a good thing). Even the appointment rooms are very well designed, with a Samsung LCD television affixed to each dental chair. This is a far cry from the traditional dental offices that I am used to visiting, which seem like a flashback to 1960s style institutions.
The staff is friendly and courteous. On my first visit, they recommended that I get a night guard because I grind my teeth when I sleep, but they were not pushy, and I never felt pressured. They provided me with a printed estimate of how much the night guard would cost, along with how much would be covered by my insurance. Three visits later, I decided to get the night guard, and there were no hidden costs or fees. Everything went smoothly as expected. General cleaning is done well too.
I still don’t like visiting the dentist, but Wall Street Dental Spa makes the experience as pleasant as possible. I definitely highly recommend it!
Fast and Professional Service – I have had a great experience at Dr. Leone's office so far. The staff are all very courteous and friendly, and this is the first dentist office (probably the only one too) without flourescent lighting, so it's not harsh and sterile feeling, but very spa-like.
The dental hygenist was very informative and the equipment they use is very high tech; they showed me a number of videos on proper brushing and flossing techniques, and answered all of my very detailed questions with a very trustworthy manner. They have Samsung LED TVs mounted to the dentist chair apparatus, so you can watch what you want on TV... super cool (and a favorite highlight of my technology-loving husband).
I was given a treatment plan for how to tackle my dental issues (which after 4+ years of not seeing a dentist, was very much needed) and a detailed explanation of my corporate benefits and payment options, which I also appreciated very much. A lot of places do not have this kind of disclosure-- great idea, wish more doctors were as clear about this stuff.
Very professional with detailed explanations in writing – I had hygienist Teres and dentist Dr. Goel. Both were very friendly yet professional, patiently going through the details about what they saw and recommend after my teeth cleaning and check-up. Right after, a staff member spoke with me about the payments, explaining how the insurance would pay for which services at what percent, etc. They were very clear from the get-go about my next procedure and how much it would cost me. They even print out a copy for me, a detailed list and explanation of the next procedure (including a picture of which teeth needs work) and my insurance benefits to make sure we're on the same page, and I could easily see which procedure/teeth I wanted to do and which one I wanted to opt out of.
Even when I later called about an insurance error, the staff member who answered the phone worked with me to quickly solve the problem. They're so comprehensive that I trust them enough to come back today to get all suggested procedures done. The icing on the cake is having your own personal TV and remote while they operate on you.
(Before Wall St Dental Spa, I went to a Dentist in the Rockefeller Center 6 months before and they did not supply ANY of these explanations, and eventually screwed me over. But I will leave those details for my next review.)
Quick and thorough – I don't generally enjoy going to the dentist, but found this to be a good experience for me. I did not feel as nervous as I sometimes do. I could not hear drilling or noise in other rooms as I sometimes do in other offices. Probably the best part is that Dr. Leone shows you pictures of your teeth and explains what needs to be done. Then a staff member goes over the cost with you and shows you an estimate of what your insurance will cover. There is no pressure and all the tools are available to help you make a decision about when and if you want to return.
A truly relaxing spa experience – My visit was the best part of my day. I was very relaxed by the soothing music and comfortable atmosphere. My appointment moved smoothly with no waiting.
The dental team is extremely professional and friendly. You're teeth are in good hands with their expertise and high tech equipment. I highly recommend Wall Street Dental Spa.
