After the wild success of his Meatpacking District spot Scarpetta, Scott Conant became a foodie household name, with appearances ranging from “Top Chef” to “The Today Show.” Faustina, located in the Cooper Square Hotel, is his sleekest restaurant yet, all smooth grays and creams with silver trim running across the entire dining room. The menu is more varied than at his prior projects, adding entrees like a 20-ounce Berkshire pork chop, prawns wrapped in lardo (cured pig fat), fried chicken and short ribs to a small selection of his signature pastas, which a crowd of boisterous, moneyed diners consume with gusto.
