Located beneath Richard Sandoval’s Latin-Asian restaurant, Zengo, this subterranean lounge is a tequila drinker’s paradise. Four-hundred different varieties of tequila line the bookshelves of the library-esque walls, and like a trip to the library, a visit to La Biblioteca may feel overwhelming. Thankfully, an on-site tequila librarian helps navigate novices and experts alike, and Tuesday night tastings (7pm-8pm; $15) offer a range of tequilas. Although rustic antique accents and a long library table complete the library motif, the only studying that takes place involves poring over the extensive drink menu. After a few (or a few too many) drinks, refuel on upscale Mexican street food like chipotle chicken, braised pork belly and tilapia tacos.
