Nothing to write home about.. For as pricey as this place is I would expect home made chips that are not over salted. Chips here are so thin they feel and look cheep. At $8 for three the stuffed jalapenos did not deliver. The Mexico City style quesadillas were tasty but the "tuna tacos" entree was noting of the sort. Since when is chunks of tuna on a bed of romaine a taco? This misrepresentation was a lettuce wrap at most. Basically just a chain trying to cash in on Mexican chic were its all about presentations and only slightly better than a Chili's.
Citysearch Editorial Review. The fifth location of B.R. Guest's popular Mexican chain offers the same above-average cuisine that made the first four so successful, with a prime Meatpacking District address to boot. Housed in a deceptively large space, Dos Caminos MePa occupies two sprawling floors lined almost entirely with windows, allowing for nice natural light during the day and an appealing view of the bustling 'hood come nightfall. Homemade guacamole and a variety of bocaditos (appetizers) like quesadillas and empanadas are best enjoyed over strong mojitos at one of the many sidewalk tables. Three separate menus (lunch, dinner and late-night) vary slightly, but expect to find most of the usual suspects (assorted tacos, ceviche and traditional Mexican large plates) on offer. It may not be the most authentic Mexican food in New York, but that doesn't mean it's not good.
