An uber hip hotel where the A listers go to see and be seen. The lobby area is as busy as any corner coffee shop and artists and writers alike are busy typing away on their Mac Books. Rooms are done in clean lines with a masculine touch.

Not recommended. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the music is quite good. However, no dancing is allowed and this rule seems to be selectively enforced. One of the bouncers went around the club telling people not to dance, but he did so selectively only enforcing this rule with people of South Asian background while ignoring other groups dancing next to them. This happened on multiple occasions. I will definitely not return and will ask my friends not to do so as well as a matter of principle.

Complete lack of service. Rooms are tiny, dank, dark, and depressing. Service is nonexistant. Elevators are inconvenient.

Female front desk staff only pays attention if you are under 30 (which is how dumb they are, since usually the oldest person in the group is paying the bill).

Impossible to sleep comfortably or to have a package delivered on time.

A complete disaster for business.

Work in Progress. This is an old apartment building updated to be a hotel. That's fine, but note that not all the former apartment dwellers are gone, some of the rooms are very small (so small they have bunkbeds and sinks in the room instead of the bathroom), only 2 small elevators, and the heating/cooling is not controlled room-to-room. That last one bugs me the most because I could not turn on the A/C and it was too hot in the room to sleep comfortably. The front desk recommended opening the single window in the room, which I did, but that had little effect other than bringing in the noise from outside.

But if you can overlook those short-comings, the lobby, restaurant/bar scene is a spectacle and fun.

A chic Flatiron hotel fit for rockers and their entourages.. Formerly the Hotel Breslin, the Ace was designed with an eye toward attracting guests from creative industries like advertising and music. With 262 rooms, the hotel boasts an array of sleeping options--bunk, cheap, standard, deluxe or loft--ranging from $169 to $589 per night. The 320 square-foot lofts come equipped with turntables, custom vintage vinyl and Gibson Epiphone guitars. The bathrooms offer guests a variety of bath products with which to pamper themselves, including crushed pearl and charcoal hand soap and other goodies from Rudy's Barbershop in Seattle. Each guest room is stocked with an “Ace Survival Guide” so visitors can get in-the-know.
