Citysearch Editorial Review. In 2009, 25-year-old banker Luke Holden made a winning gamble on a tiny Maine-style lobster shack in the East Village. Delivering super-fresh fish from Maine (courtesy of Holden’s father, Jeff, who runs the sustainable Portland Shellfish company), Holden has now added a second shack to his portfolio, bringing Luke’s Lobster to New York’s Upper East Side--along with extra seats. In a narrow space outfitted with nautical accents and muted murals of Maine’s coastal landscape, diners will find Luke’s signature, unfussy $14 lobster rolls, along with bisques, fried clams and other bounty from the beach. The only thing missing is the sound of the surf.
