Ummm The Jury is still out. We arrived and the place was packed, sign of a good restaurant/bar. The staff were extremely busy and obviously stressed out when we got there. We were seated half an hour late for our Saturday brunch. Still no complaints really. There were 10 of us in our party and the waitress took my order last, I clearly said I wanted the Burger please, Medium well. She did not read out orders back to us and just rushed off. The food started to come and by the time she had delivered 9 out of the 10 plates of food, I could see she had in her hand something that did not look like a Burger. She looks at me and sais 'this must be for you' . It was a steak sandwhich, I didn't order a streak sandwhich I ordered a burger. She tried to tell me that I did order the steak sandwhich and she read my order back to me and I agreed. 1) BIG LIE! I know what I ordered and I also know she did not read the order back to me or any of our party. She went off in a huff to the kitchen and came back again with the steak sandwhich and tried to put it down in front of me saying ' You will have to eat this now'. I said you have got to be joking, I ordered the burger and not a steak sandwhich so no I will not eat it. Eventually she came back saying the chef had agreed to make the Burger instead. WTF??? I have never had such poor customer service ever. First to have the waitress lie and then secondly to be told I had to eat the miserable looking steak sandwhich. Luckily the tastiness of the burger made up for this, the Burger was out of this world.! I won't ever go back though, that was the worst experience I've ever had in NYC in any restaurant.

Best Place UWS. First: I dont go out on UWS or on weekends, at all. My idea of chilling on a bridge and tunnel night like a Friday is to go local. UWS is full of guys in untucked shirts and bootcut jeans that their girlfriends picked out, in general, and their wives are pushing strollers - even at night! BUT! !!!!This hidden gem has the coolest ever staff, BEST owner (Tim) and has a very downtown feel. VERY cool place. its absolutely unassuming and chill. Thumbs way, way up. Cool crowd. Apparently they do crazy 20 dollar all you can drink deals, etc. I prefer to tip that on one beer just to keep this joint open until I move downtown again.

Had a great Birthday Party. Threw a birthday party for my friend last night. The staff was so fantastic!! We were upstairs and had the most wonderful service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a fun time. Tim (the owner) took great care of us... from the round of shots for the room or ability to plug in our ipod and play our own tunes - it was one of the easiest dealings with a bar in NYC. We will have another party here for sure!

Citysearch Editorial Review. The Sunburnt Calf may technically be the younger sister to fellow Aussie restaurants The Sunburnt Cow and Bondi Road, but think of the newer Upper West Side eatery as the older, wiser sibling. At 3,000-square-feet, the Calf is significantly larger, offering a long, wood-accented bar up front, two floors of dining space and a balcony. The main dining room is outfitted with wraparound murals of Ayers Rock and The Outback, transporting diners down under with tried and true drinks (including “moo juice” cocktails, served out of baby bottles) and signature dishes like grilled barramundi and juicy burgers with “the lot”--topped with beets, pineapple and a fried egg.
