WORST HAIR SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE!!!. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE I GOT MY HIGHLIGHTS DONE WITH HORACE, AND LET ME JUST SAY MY HAIR LOOKS HORRIBLE!! ITS ALL ORANGY AND BRASSY.. WHEN I CALLED HIM TO INFORM HIM OF Y HAIR COLOR, HE TOLD ME YOU ASKED FOR HIGHLIGHTS I GAV EYOU HIGHLIGHTS! REALLY? THE WORST HIGHLIGHTS IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! THEY ARE WELL UNDER STAFFED AND JUST SLOW.. THEY HAVE AN 80YR OLD WOMAN DOING HAIR IN A SALON? ABSOLUTELY DISORGANIZED!!

First of all, their prices are outrageous!!! idk how businesses like that expect to survive with the presence of Groupon and Lifbooker...they need to get with the program!
I went there for a Brazilian wax with a lifebooker offer. It took FOREVER to make the appointment! Each time I called they said they were booked. When I finally went there for my appointment, it was COMPLETLY empty. They didn't seem that busy after all. Maybe people are realizing how crappy their services are...or I hope so anyway.
I had given them my bf’s phone number becoz mine was acting funny. When I got their, the receptionist asked me if that was my number coz it had a guy’s voicemail and she was trying to reach me (she didn’t say why she was calling me but from the reviews I read, I’m assuming she was going to cancel).
Anyway, the girl who did my Brazilian was nice, but she had a cold and her nose was dripping it was gross!!! When ur sick, please stay home or find a replacement asap.
The quality of the work was OK. I have been getting Brazilians for 4 years now and I know what a good Brazilian is. It took her a little long, about 25min, and I had a Brazilian done several times in 10min. She had to go over the same area more than once, which irritated my skin and showed lack to technique from her part. And I cannot believe the original price for the Brazilian was $60!!! (I paid $19 with lifebooker) it was not $60 quality Brazilian.
Long story short, I will not go back there even with a good coupon.
agree - worst customer service ever. Ladies, no $20 coupon is worth suffering the disrespect or supporting the disrespect of an employee I experienced and witnessed at this place on Sunday. I will preface this review by saying that I never actually received a service here ... I was treated so poorly before I even sat down, as well as witnessing ill treatment of an employee, that instead I chose to ask for a refund from Gilt (a deal for a gel manicure) rather than give the arrogant manager (receptionist) my business. I had an appt at 1pm - the salon called at 11am to let me know the nail technician had called out sick - could I instead come at 12pm for an appt? Sure, no problem. When I arrived at 12pm (the lights were still off in the salon), I heard a rather unpleasant exchange between a female employee and the male receptionist who was telling her, "If you walk out now, don't you ever come back." Her response: "OK, can you please pay me now." His response "You'll get paid on Friday like everyone else." After the dispute ended around 20 minutes later, the receptionist came up to me and told me that the other nail technician had just left because she was suffering from "vertigo". There was no one else to take me, unless I wanted to wait for someone else to come in from Long Island. I calmly reminded him that instead of canceling this morning, he had asked me to come in earlier - and now there was no one to take me, this was kind of annoying, since we could have just rescheduled for a later date. He lost it: "I was planning to give you a free manicure but since you are giving me attitude before I even had the chance, forget it." There are so many lovely, hard-working people who deserve to succeed in the service industry, this guy is not one of them.
worst customer service ever.
I have never in my life been disrespected by a service provider in the way that I was this evening when I visited Lali Lali. I planned on using a Lifebooker voucher, but apparently voucher-holders are not given priority or even common courtesy. My negative experience began when I receive a call 2 days before my appointment telling me that the salon would randomly have to cancel it. Their excuse was that the aesthetician had to leave work early that day and it was the first time they'd heard of this news; however, I suspect that I was being booted for a full-paying customer. Initially, their response to this arbitrary cancellation was more or less "tough luck." They told me that they were booked for the week and could not fit me it. They offered no accommodation or compensation for my inconvenience.
It was not until I explained that I had an engagement this weekend and desperately needed to get in this week that any effort was made to help me. They finally offered me a slot right after work for the following day. I explained to the guy that I would be coming straight from work to make the 5:30pm appointment, which was the only one available. I arrived 10 minutes late and apologized to the receptionist for my delay. After sitting and waiting in the rest area for another 5 minutes, I was told that my appointment was given away to the person who was set to come after me at 6:30pm because they were early. First off, who comes to an appointment an hour early??? Something was awry. The business manager, the most discourteous, arrogant, disrespectful and awful person I've encountered in a while proceeded to tell me in a pithy manner that my only option was to wait until 6:30pm to be serviced. What so-called "classy establishment" does not have a 10 minute grace period? Furthermore, what place simply gives away your slot without calling or waiting the customary grace period. All this leads me to believe that they never actually accommodated me with a new appointment. I proceeded to take my voucher back and said to myself (but loud enough for him to hear) that the whole situation was ridiculous. The evil manager told me that I was ridiculous for coming late and expecting to be serviced, among other things.
Long story short, he basically made it seem like a Lali Lali treatment was an entitlement, not something for which I had already paid. I responded by requesting a refund for my voucher and telling him to expect this very negative review. He told me in so many words that they don't care about my review and that he would prefer I never come back because I am not the type of client they want. I have no idea what that means and I certainly hope that was not an attack on me as a person. Based on his tone and treatment of me, I don't doubt that my jeans, messy bun, and lifebooker voucher lead him to believe that I was not of the class, character, or quality that their salon normally caters to. Little do you know, evil manager, I am actually an attorney who makes money sufficient to afford regular services at your venue. I pamper myself often and tip well. You just lost a potential regular customer because you are a jerk.
I hope all that read this review think twice before frequenting Lali Lali as it lacks the basic professionalism, courtesy, and respect that all customers are entitled to, whether they pay with a discount coupon, gift certificate, or Platinum AmEx card.
BAD hair coloring experience.
On a random saturday I inquired whether, by chance they had an open hair appt. I was told yes. Not really the case
The stylist I was paired with was doing another woman's hair and basically ran back and forth between us.
I was very specific in asking that she do only a few foils and that the color be very natural. I did not want to change the overall color of my hair.
What she did was a ton of highlights around my face. Rather than allow it to process 5 or 10 mins she sat me in the way back while she went to do the other woman's hair in the front. I think she forgot about me and I was processing for entirely too long.
Rather than use a toner, she used what she called a gloss, and assured me that it would only affect the highlighted portions and just add shine to the rest.
The color she chose was fire engine red, nothing natural about it. Additionally it tinted my entire head red, not just the highlighted portions
I was charged also charged for two separate services although I only requested one (a gloss and highlights).''
She was clearly inexperienced and overwhelmed and I really regret the whole experience. Wont be back
Best Soho Salon.
Have you noticed the heat in NYC? This hot weather was wreaking havoc on my skin :( ??Luckily, in stepped a fresh facial ($90) at Lali Lali Salon! It was one of the most relaxing hours of my life. My face was saved from the harsh weather and my skin came out absolutely glowing.
It has looked amazing all week, and I am so happy and satisfied with the radiant skin I left with.
??The atmosphere at the salon is great, everyone was sweet and it was incredibly stylish and polished. The facial was a bit of a splurge for myself, but totally worth the money for the amazing customer service and products used.
Cool Salon In Soho. I worked with Lissette last week on hair for my wedding. I got tons, tons of compliments on it at the wedding, and I really recommend her services. It was a looser, somewhat curled updo that, as she said, looked like something that I might be able to do on my own but never really could. Everything stayed in place through an evening of bike transport and dancing. Lissette was totally pleasant to chat with during both my trial and appointment, and the studio is a nice, relaxing place to spend time before the big event.
Great salon!. What a beautiful salon! Recommend to your girfriend,, wife, etc. Comfortable and great staff. Try it, you'll like it.
First rate salon!. My girlfriend went to this salon and it is just fabulous. Best cuts I have seen on really beautiful people. And it's a beautiful salon as well. You should try it!
a quick cut. I got a cut from Horace and few quick suggestions. For Soho the price wasn't bad plus the 15% off coupon. This place is pretty cool and very open. I will come back here next time if I need a quick cut.
