Worst Salon for Hair Colors in NYC – The worst place for hair color in NY I must say. I traveled to many cities in my lifetime and this was the worst service ever. My colorist, Rosanne, Roseann, something like that, I didn't real stick around long enough to catch it, or care for that matter, was such a smartass know it all. She keep telling me how great she was, about all of her experience etc, that she use to be a color educator, blah, blah, blah. My color correction to blonde was nothing short of disaster. It was more two toned than anything else. I left in misery, and vowed never even walk next tp Platinum Salon ever again.

How can a salon do wrong with hair color. I am left with no words. I am just too upset with platinum salon stylist. I asked them to color my hair rust red and what do they do color it cherry red.
I hate it. And above all they do not even apologies for this spoof and blame me that I should have checked the color before been applied
Are there any good salon who can undo my hair situation.
I have lost my faith in this salon would never return to them even if they offer free service.

Unhappy Customer – I read a lot of review about Platinum salon. But was not sure if they could really stand up-to the expectation I decided to have a haircut. I instructed the stylist that i needed a hair cut which should touch my shoulder not above the shoulder. She did hear me but i don't know what she followed she just went zoooopppp and cut my hairs till shoulder length. OMG!!! it was way above shoulder length after final trimming of hairs.
I was distressed and disappointed to see such a pathetic mistake from a stylist of such known salon.
AMAZING colorist/stylist-Melinda!! – I have faithfully been following Melinda for the past 4 years from Astoria into Manhattan and would follow her anywhere! When I first found her I was so happy as I'd had so many other mediocre experiences and many $'s spent without great results. She not only listened to me, executed one of the finest cuts I've ever had ( I have curly, craaazy hair!) and didn't take off more than we discussed. Since then, I have had color, highlights and referred a number of my friends, all of whom are devotees. I love that her location is an Aveda concept salon and I get lovely scalp massages as well as amazing blowouts! Thanks Mel, I'm yours as long as I live in NYC!!

Hurtful and Terrible Experience with Melinda – I have spent thousands of dollars with Patinum salon and they have treated me terribly. They do not care about their customers and will overcharge you until you bleed. Their prices for Hair extensions are already absurd. I had another bad experience with melinda in Platinum Salon which was blowing out my hair, basically ripping it out of my scalp because she hadn't brushed it and could not understand my complaints. I should not be paying an exorbitant amount of money to have my hair pulled out and need a translator. If you are considering this Platinum salon, please, please reconsider and DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. They deserve to go out of business. They treated me terribly and I will never, ever return to their establishment. I may spit on the door as I walk by, but that is all they will ever get out of me again. There are salons out there that care about their customers and ensure a positive experience. Please find one of those instead.
Avoid Menlinda and Platinum Salon – So I went Platinum salon for the first time. My hair was totally damaged by melinda in Plationum Salon. Melinda was rude and messed up my layers. I came to this salon based on reviews that I had read and wanting a salon in my area. The staff was more interested in gossiping amongst themselves than helping me with my needs and tried to upsell me products that i did not need. My haircut was aweful and the color was not much better. I would rather drive out of my way to the city, than come here again. I would highly recommend the entire staff to take a course in Customer Service...Platinum salon gave me the worst service ever! they did not appreciate the fact that i was giving them business i asked for a certain technician and they refuse to give me that information in which resulted into a huge conflict because my hair turned out looking like Hurricane Katrina! if only they had paid attention and respected my wishes things could have turned out differently and the hair stylist that i had i think her name was Melinda kept down talking her own co-workers which i thought was very unprofessional i am not sure if this business is going to last too long the air is just to thick. No one seems to invite happiness. I guess my advice to them is just to appreciate your surroundings and be thankful to people in general.
Melinda in Platinum Salon Let me down – I wish I could of experienced all these other wonderful reviews from Platinum Salon, but after my experience with Melinda in Platinum Salon I was left in tears. I went to the Platinum salon to get my hair cut, I have curly hair and was explaining to her how I would like my hair cut, and how it could be difficult. It seemed like she was annoyed, that I was telling her how to do her job, but I wasn't. As she was cutting my hair I was telling her not to take off too much, but she didn't listen to me, she just kept cutting and cutting! I was mortified! my hair was cut uneven. I just looked in the mirror and was speechless. I went home sobbing my eyes out!!!!!! My family hated my hair cut, as so did I. Bottom line I will never go back to Melinda in Platinum Salon and just hope in the future she listens to her clients because we go to "you" to feel more beautiful not ugly or look like a mess.
Sorry, Not Recommended - Melinda was very rude – My hair was damaged at Platinum salon. After this happend, I gave Melinda, the stylist another shot, as I had been seeing her for a while. She then left my hair discolored. I pointed out discoloration in my hair and was told I could buy a product to fix it or come back another time, which disregarded my busy schedule.
I was left with orange spots in my hair during an extremely important (and visible) event in my life.Then there were abrupt cancellations and extreme lateness. I also agree that Platinum salon seemed dirty (dusty products), and robes were reused without washing. I was grossed out by that.
Melinda was very rude to me. I wouldn't go back ever.
Don – When I called to schedule my appointment for an all-over-color, I was told that my service pricing started at $85.00. I do have long hair, so I know that extra product can increase the cost, so I was prepared for that. However, my bill was $145.00!!When I asked the reason for the huge price hike, Tita looked like she was searching for reasoning then told me that it was because my hair required extra product. I can't understand how extra product could cost $60.00! I was floored. Then, she had the nerve to say that it took a long time to blow dry my hair. I'm sorry, I didn't think this salon handled pricing .
