Citysearch Editorial Review.
Located in the New York Helmsley Hotel, Leona’s reflects the temperament of its namesake--not with tantrums, tax evasion or outrageous behests to canine companions, but in its ritzy, Vegas-like decor and obstinately American menu. Any hotel restaurant must first and foremost please its guests, and there’s very little to dislike about the menu, with offerings like New York strip, herb roasted chicken and angel hair pasta. Although the purple-and-black color scheme, which runs throughout the carpeted two-level space and is offset with mirrors, might be a bit much for a midweek business lunch, it makes a pre-theater dinner or special holiday brunch feel more stylish.
