“This is a cozy little place in the le Parker Meridian hotel.”

“Their burgers are just great!”
“Burger Joint is a great place for after happy hour”
Hidden, hole in the wall (a very expensive wall) restaurant in the lobby of Parker Meridian Hotel. Charming place, with simple burgers. Cash only.
Hidden restuarant off of the lobby of the Parker Meridian hotel. This place is a hole in the wall that's constantly packed and only does burgers, but they do them damn well. Go before 11:30 to avoid the crowds and get a cheeseburger with the works...oh and it's cash only so come prepared.
Anyone with a deep love of fairy tales is bound to be smitten with the Burger Joint. Like a magic portal or hidden passage, it's unlikely to be found without looking for it. You go into the plush lobby of a midtown hotel, head down a passage where only a single image of a burger and an arrow are mounted, and you find yourself in a classic roadside-style burger joint, where quarter-pound patties are cooked on hot iron and served up on white squishy buns. These burgers are not exactly great, but they taste that way thanks to the mysterious, inexplicable location.
fun experience but not for the burger. My friend and I are on a quest for the best burger. and decided that the
Better than pretty good.... Not the best burger, but better than just good. For the price I feel like I've had better, but I'm glad I went. Probably would go again, but I wouldn't make any special plans to. I bet Tarrantino would appreciate that they have a $5 shake ($5.05 actually).
Great Htel BUT.... It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Somewhat contrived atmosphere/attitude, good burger.
Overall, a very good burger.
I stood in line, taking in the loud music, packed tables and all the signage throughout the small room. Some of the attitude appears contrived, especially being housed within LPM, but when in Rome....
As instructed by the signage, I had my order ready to go by the time I arrived to the first place in line. I ordered a cheeseburger medium with no mustard or onions. As it's cash-only, I had my cash ready in hand and paid quickly.
Once ordered, I stood off to the side mentally laying odds that I'd actually get a table; it didn't look good. My name was called within 5 minutes and nobody had budged from their table. Sigh. Time for plan B.
I took my paper sack and left the Burger Joint. I found a spot in LPM's hall of mirrors (a white marble entryway that leads out to 56th St.) and made the most of the unfortunate experience of not only watching myself eat the burger, but having all my neighbors sitting around me get to watch, too. I can only hope it doesn't end up on YouTube as it was a good, albeit messy, burger.
My original rating for Burger Joint was going to be 4 stars, but after going to Island Burger in Hell's Kitchen, that knocked my socks off and thus LPM's Burger Joint gets three solid stars.
Truly Good Burgers!!!.
Definitely A Fav !!!
One of the Best Lil Burger joints in the city. I went there once on a lunch run for co-workers and Loved it!!! you know its a good place when they only take cash! LOL .True sign of a great spot!
DMANBURGER "Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridien".
DMANBURGER “Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridien Hotel”
January 11, 2010
The Burger Joint is a clandestine hole in the wall greasy spoon, decorated with old movie posters and outdated beer signs. The walls are scribbled with comments from past patrons such as Andrew Dice Clay and strange various sarcastically outspoken vegan worshipers. I approached the crowded counter and was immediately confronted by the abrupt cashier about my decision to order; quickly I gathered my thoughts and satisfied her impatience.
I decided on a cheeseburger with the “works” which was one of only two choices on the simple bare menu, I pulled up a stool and waited to taste New York City’s much blogged about burgers. The swanky Le Parker Meridien Hotel was the last place I expected to see this beer swilling, burger slinging fast food grill, nevertheless The Burger Joint has been serving up juicy little treats for over 6 years and New Yorkers have loved them. My name called out by the bohemian style burger-keep was like music to my ears as I knew the wait for my hunger was over; I grabbed my tightly wrapped burger and tore into it like a kid on Christmas Day. The flavor was a strong charcoal goodness combine with the creaminess from the hunks of melted cheese that was slathered on top, the crisp lettuce and dill pickles finished my pallet with a fresh after taste.
Still hungry, this was not unusual for me I ordered another minus the cheese opting for the traditional hamburger. This bad boy didn’t disappoint either going down even quicker than the first, should I dare go for a third? To avoid being gluttonous, I think not! I sat there happy and content chatting to a local who came from a great distance to try New York’s revered top burger spot, I quietly asked him whether he agreed with the hype? His answer was the same as mine …most definitely!!
My beloved burger. No matter all the delish burger options in NY, whenever i'm asked about a burger recommendation, I can't help but throw out the Burger Joint first. It's just so cool for tourists and NY'ers alike. The prestige of walking through the Parker Merdian. Then finding the line that leads to the velvet curtain that is oh so New York. But when that curtain pulls back and you get your first whiff of the burger and fries while adjusting from the upscale refinery of Le Parker Meridian to this dive locale of sorts, it just all comes together for the perfect burger experience. The people behind the counter are pretty friendly but you should know what you want to order after all the waiting. I typically go with a cheeseburger with the works, fries and a chocolate shake. Perfection. Then comes the waiting- not only for the burger, but to find a table that you can enjoy the meal at. Finally someone will start to wrap up the remains of their meal and you have to be quick so you can enjoy the burger joint experience at one of its long wooden booths if you're lucky. But there's also tables and a high table for the newbies who aren't used to the table tracking olympics. Once you get your food you can enjoy a truly great burger. Its the perfect size, flavorful and is accompanied by a fantastic side of fries, if you so choose. The shakes are thick and perfectly blended. You will have to roll yourself out past all the other patrons looking to sidestep you for your seat, but in the end the lines and table hunting are all worth it for the only experience in New York truly worth the velvet rope/curtain treatment.
Hidden Burger: Found.
I was first introduced to the Burger Joint on a date, and immediately regretted wearing jeans upon walking into the imposing atrium lobby of Le Parker Meridian Hotel. As we stood waiting in line behind velvet ropes, hemmed in by thirty-foot high curtains, I wondered exactly what kind of burgers would be hidden like this. I soon found out: tasty burgers.
The no-nonsense counter service dishes up just the basics to keep things simple in this smallish restaurant, where the line to order takes up most of the floor space. Nevermind, it is worth the wait and tight quarters: you’ll rub elbows with a few new fellow Burger Joint friends. Order up a cheeseburger (two cheeses!), fries (thrown in a paper bag for extra taste), shake (or a cheap pitcher) and a retro vibe, and it would be difficult, daresay, impossible, to go wrong at the Burger Joint.
Burgers & Beer at a 4-Star Hotel? What, Whaaat?. Having formerly been the circular bar Jack's at the Parker Meridien, this space was turned into a hidden gem with zero signage and wood paneled walls. But seriously, decor aside, talk about a damn good burger. The meat is hand kneaded which makes it tender and juicy and a must have...and seriously, with only like 4 other items on the menu, how can you miss! Don't forget to grab some fries in a brown paper bag and a milkshake...and make sure to go with a friend, so you can grab one of the few coveted seats as they order...and hopefully pay!
Just a burger?!. Just a Burger? Just a burger. It’s so much more than “just a burger”. I mean…that first bite—oh what heaven that first bite is! The bun like a sesame freckled breast of an angel resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below—flavors mingling in a seductive pas-de-deux And then…a pickle…the most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a…a patty of ground beef so exquisite; swirling in your mouth breaking apart and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, this is God…speaking to us in food.
