“This is a cozy little place in the le Parker Meridian hotel.”
“The swanky Le Parker Meridien Hotel was the last place I expected to see this beer swilling, burger slinging fast food grill, nevertheless The Burger Joint has been serving up juicy little treats for over 6 years and New Yorkers have loved them.”

“Burger Joint is a great place for after happy hour”

Hidden, hole in the wall (a very expensive wall) restaurant in the lobby of Parker Meridian Hotel. Charming place, with simple burgers. Cash only.

Hidden restuarant off of the lobby of the Parker Meridian hotel. This place is a hole in the wall that's constantly packed and only does burgers, but they do them damn well. Go before 11:30 to avoid the crowds and get a cheeseburger with the works...oh and it's cash only so come prepared.
Anyone with a deep love of fairy tales is bound to be smitten with the Burger Joint. Like a magic portal or hidden passage, it's unlikely to be found without looking for it. You go into the plush lobby of a midtown hotel, head down a passage where only a single image of a burger and an arrow are mounted, and you find yourself in a classic roadside-style burger joint, where quarter-pound patties are cooked on hot iron and served up on white squishy buns. These burgers are not exactly great, but they taste that way thanks to the mysterious, inexplicable location.
AMAZING!!. This is by far the best hamburger that I have EVER had in my life! It is fabulous. IF you are every just visiting new york you have to try it one day! It is amazing...just try to go at off hours! Totally worth the wait.
Gotta try it. An unpretentious burger at a price that's good for the city. The only problem is the wait. If you can deal with that, you have to try it.
Flavor AND Character. I LOVE this place but I cannot go during rush hour. One thing I have been able to do is phone in an order and just grab it to go. The spot is hidden behind the velvet curtain and the burgers taste the same as good as the ones I've had when I've stayed here and ordered room service (but room svc burger was like $20). I do believe the prices here are creeping up a bit since I first started coming here. If you want to eat here, you must bring someone who can scout out tables while you wait on line. They don't make shakes when it is busy (so basically not any time before 3pm).
WOW. I was amazed to actually get a great burger from a place like this... The hotel is nice and all but the burger joint is by far as nice as that... however their food is very very very good... one of the best burger I had in months!
I don't know what the fuss is about.... I was excited to try this place after reading all the hype about it. There was a line out the door the whole time we were there so I thought it must be as good as I've heard. Well, the burgers were good...but not great. I just don't think they're worth $7.50, especially for their size, these are not big burgers. I mean, sure it's better than a fast food hamburger, but it's really just like a homemade burger that I could make myself. Not sure what all the fuss is about...
good burgers, hard to find a seat. good burgers for sure, decent fries, tiny place though and often no seats available. plan to at best be sitting 6 inches away from other people. have your cash out and be ready to order. i don't go too often though as the urgers are good but not truly great enough to make the no seat hassle worth it.
Perfect Serving Size.
Don't let the lobby of Le Parker Meridien fool you. There's nothing luxurious or pretentious about this place.
The limited menu, wood panel walls, random posters (IE; The Sopranos, Japanese Baseball Players and Batman), exposed kitchen, make this one of the rare genuine burger joints in Manhattan.
Not to mention the portions are perfect. Order a burger, fries and even a milkshake and it's just enough to satisfy you and NOT feel the need to take a nap, post lunch break.
cant wait to go back. i went here due to a friend's sister's recommendation. As walked into the hotel, i was thinking we were so under-dressed for this place (we were in jeans). then we found the place behind the curtain and i felt at home. we ordered our burgers and fries and i was overjoyed at them having sam's (we had been walking all over new york that day). the burger was juicy and mouth-watering and the fries were tasty too. i am trying to plan another to the big apple and to the Burger Joint..worth the money
GOOD BURGER...AT A "GREAT" PRICE.
I have to say I AM NOT on expert on burgers. I don't like cheese so therefore no cheeseburgers and I am from California, which means that to me an In 'N' Out hamburger is as tasty as they come and even though I like big, beefy flavor as much as your average American, my burger tastes can be rather simple.
I will admit that it's location is cool and does account for much of the charm of the place. Entering from 57th Street and walking the "hall of mirrors" type environment does make you wonder exactly where the place is. But I spotted the curtain people had described and saw a little line, so I figured we must have found the right place. You have to know this place is small, but surprisingly we found a booth with relative ease (though we were lorded over afterwards by a group of guys wanting to sit which led me to licking the ketchup off my wrapper so I could claim I was eating). We each had a burger and chocolate milkshake (their menu advertises Strawberry but none was available, which peeved me since restaurants think they can get away with just saying "we don't have it" with no explanation).
The food-the burger was good. I ordered medium rare and was very pleased. High-quality meat, tasty pickles (you can choose your toppings from an adequate menu), though the bun left something to be desired (and it was average size, even small by some standards - the burger that is). The milkshake was good, if unspectacular. Not up to the standards of even a Johnny Rockets. However, what leads to my 3-star rating is the price we paid for this modest meal. 24 DOLLARS FOR 2 BURGERS AND 2 SHAKES!!! Only in NYC.
Over all, it was NOT WORTH IT if you truly just want a good burger and don't need a scene. I'm not a fan of Corner Bistro, but I would prefer it over this. Right now my fave burger is at a place called BXL Cafe on W.43rd Street. Great buns, great taste, and a size to match the dollar amount you are paying for it.
