I've had better vegetarian food. Zen is alright as a vegetarian joint. My date and I shared the grilled seitan which was just ok. I had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries and the burger definitely needed a better sauce to compliment it, the fries weren't the best I've had. My date had the moo shu fantasia which he liked but I thought needed more flavor. The tofu cheesecake was good, but still like everything else there I felt there were not enough good taste or flavor to the food, the dishes needed something more to make them more appetizing and worth the price. Also, when the bf first had the pineapple iced tea brought to him, we both tasted something really off about the drink, we think the pineapple had gone bad and was extremely sour. At least they replaced it and the next drink tasted as it should have. Might or might not go back, but I'd order a different appetizer and entree.

Great Veggie Food. I am so glad Zen palate is back. They are an old and favorite vegetarian restaurant. This one is much cleaner than the one uptown which is falling apart. It is relatively cheap and different. Certainly a better option than the TGI fridays that took their old location

I'm psyched that Zen Palate is back at Union Square area. I loved the previous one at 16th Street & Union Square, they got pushed out by outrageous rent increase. Not much in vegetarian fare in Union Square so their return is great news. Now that I know of the new store at 18th I will be eating there regularly. Their awesome vegetarian dumpling soup is a godsend in the winter months.

Best vegetarian food i have had in years!. What a feast! The sesame medallions are to-die for so is the wonton soup! This is a great restaurant with impeccable service. Good for both groups & One and one dining. You can also order online through there website- this restaurant has it all!!
