Racist Bouncerssss!!!! – I don't know if this lounge has different bouncers often or not, but yesterday a promotor told us to come, we were on his guest list and they refused to let us in, it was a subliminal but the guy was a fat RACIST bastard, who told us our list did not exist but yet was texting the guy whose guest list we were on! at the end of the day we were they wanted us in but we did not go because it is all about the principle, it sucks to know racism is still alive!!!!
I will not be going to this lounge and if i do, it will be with news reporters!
Amazing Hookah lounge – I have been to lavie a couple of times and each time I go I like it even more! I always enjoy myself there and my friends and I love everything about it..the atmosphere and staff were really nice and made sure everything went well for the whole night. The food is great I usually get their salmon and it is very well seasoned and the food is well presented as well. Whether I go on a weekday or weekend it is always fun and there is a good clean crowd.. I heard that they came out with a new menu and that they have even more great food! I am excited to go back and I will def try the new food on the menu! I would recommend if your going on a weekend to make reservations because when I was there on the weekend it got really busy!
tapasssss – I normally come to La Vie to party but during a night out, a couple of us got hungry so we ordered food. Ever had a Moroccan cigar? Def. a solid choice for an alternative to bar food. Never had the veggie one ( stuck with the lamb) and had the goat cheese brulee. I don’t know if people actually order this but my gf has a “sophisticated” palate and wanted to try this fig concoction. The food is fresh, tasty, and portions are adequate/satisfying. I didn’t try any of the entrees: drinks were my specialties of the night. However, to have some small plates to break up the monotony is the way to go.
Live from La Vie, it's hump-day night! – My girlfriend dragged me here by force last week and I'm glad she did. We went on a Wednesday night because she had heard from one of the bartenders during happy hour that they have live music. The atmosphere was so lively and everyone was dancing, swirling below the brightly colored chandeliers. There were even belly dancers! I was surprised to see a place so crowded on a Wednesday night. It makes me excited to think how Saturday nights turn out here. I'll definitely be coming back on a weekend, but you must try here on their live music night!
Best Reason to Brave the Cold – I don't know. It is getting brutally cold in NYC. And this is my first winter here. I believe my formula is going to be work + sleep. My gf wanted me to go to La Vie with her to meet a guy she was seeing and his friends. Now I know the best way to keep warm and fight the winter blues. La Vie is the best spot to dance, have some eye candy, and heat up/smoke by a water pipe. The crowd (while not everyone is good looking) is super well-put together and that works for me. I gave this place 5 stars because I didn't have a good time here but the best time here and it doesn't seem like that's an anomoly. Someone said it's like a vortex: well i'm already sucked in
3x fun – I go for three reasons: girls, hookah, and to party. Seriously, you can go to the best club and find hot girls. Hot girls that aren’t stuck up: different ball game. La Vie offers all of this, and I’ve never gone there and not had fun. Even the servers appear to have the best time.
Life? Indeed!!!! – Even though, La Vie is a newbie on the nightlife scene. It surely has made its mark in my book. I’ve been here on an off-night and the place was packed beyond compare. I can totally see what the attraction is: amaaaazing hookahs, food, and dance music. Totally the type of place you go to show-off your moves on the floor. Love it!
intoxicated by La Vie – For a good time, La Vie is where it is, as the food and drinks are top-notch, especially the “famboise” (one of their signature cocktails). Upon entering La Vie, it is almost like a dream, even the décor somewhat of a mystery. The place, while not having been around for a year, has really made its mark in a big way. The hookahs are fresh fruit and the live entertainment is pretty spectacular. One night I came here with a couple of girlfriends and didn’t leave until the lights came on… La Vie is simply intoxicating.
Citysearch Editorial Profile – La Vie is the kind of place that anyone still hanging on to the ideal of the "old New York" lives to deplore: a belly-dancer lounge where leggy girls sip expensive specialty cocktails, and fragrant men smoke $35 hookahs and flex their necks to the inevitable house music DJ.
LA VIE Hip Middle East on the LES of NYC – La Vie is an attractive unpretentious (as is the LES) sheik middle eastern themed restaurant/ lounge. The walls are of exposed brick and there are red plush couches that line them. I attended a press event for PassionStyle PR which also has a partnership with La Vie.
Although I attended a private event at La Vie the bar service was superb and the h'ordeuvres were supreme- oh I forgot to mention they had swanky belly dancers! I highly recommend La Vie for a twist to the standard "Friday night out". My next visit will be for dinner, as the menu is eclectic and looks to be just as intriguing as La Vie's social ambiance.
