French Toast for $11.00?. Went with my sister about two weeks ago. The hot chocolate is big and delicious with steamed milk, a nutty flavor, great whipped cream and marshmallows. We ordered an egg sandwich with Vermont cheddar and bacon.to share as we were kind of full from the hot chocolate. They very kindly split the sandwich between 2-plates and added little diced potatoes to each plate. My sister and I were impressed. Good food, good portion for 2-people, good, kind service and GREAT hot chocolate on a freezing day!. The bill was about $24.00 plus tip for a total of about $27.00 but we didn't take notice due to the experience and every thing being so good. Went again with a friend this AM. Service was a bit slow. Ordered the HChocolate again and again delish. Based on last experience we decided to split an order of French Toast with a side of bacon. Ordering took a while and food delivery took a while. French Toast was room temp at best. Bacon over done and they didn't split it between two plates. Just gave us an extra plate. Then the bill came. Almost $24.00 for what we ordered. We shared 1-1/2 pieces of bread dipped in egg (total 3-whole slices quartered) ...the FT was $11.00 for 3-slices of bread! The bacon (4-strips) $4.00 and the HC was $3.75 each. With the tip breakfast cost $28.00 and some change....$14.00 each to split breakfast? I realize the HC added $7.50 to the meal but $11.00 for French Toast??? at a glorified diner on 91st Street and Broadway? I won't be going back anytime soon due to the prices.
