So amazing that I cried when I entered the building. Mega Italian gourmet market with various restaurants all calling your name. Everything is beyond tasty!
Hands down, this is the greatest gourmet market New York has ever seen. Its restaurants aside, the meat counter, the cheese and salumi sections, and the vast pasta selection put the place in a class all its own.

Gluten overload with fresh made pastas, breads, beers...you can find EVERYTHING Italian here.

Mario Batali's brings his love of Italy to New Yorkers and tourists on the hunt for the best pastas, sauces, meats, coffees and more.

An amazing omage to everything Italian; the cheese and cured meat selections alone are worth the trip, but bring your wallet!
Various meats, rice, vegetables, breads and fish have their own unique area of the store, along with a mix of dining places and cafe's. There is a main collecting area to have a cup of vino and fulfill with friends. All together this makes a sort of center for specialised French language products right in the center of New You are able to City.
Eataly is an awesome and interesting encounter. We ate at the seafood eating place and the food was really interesting, We had the sea urchin and sea bass sounds deals and it sensed like the seafood had just come out of the beach. Although as other testers had mentioned the place is loaded with people, when you sit down to eat it doesn't feel loaded or frustrating. The delay employees was respectful and experienced and fun. Your bottles was delightful.
An Experience, but not a good Restaurant. I had gone to Eataly when it first opened and it was quite good. I returned with friends this past weekend and was very disappointed. We tried the fish and seafood station first. The first fish we ordered was a bad piece of snapper with a large dark area in the flesh and it was overcooked to the point of being rubbery. We sent it back and tried the grouper which was completely raw in the middle. The manager and cook both apologized, but did not even offer us a free glass of wine. We then went to the cheese and salami area and were given three dirty plates. The marble counter we were sitting out was stained and dirty. Everyone who works there seems very young. For the price range, this place needs to put some experience on the floor as oversight. We won't be going back.
Great!!. Great food - great pizza! The ice cream was amazing too (espresso flavored)!
Eataly, the hype, the crowds, the wow.
It is an experience.
If you don't don't mind wading through crowds of tourists to eat.... Italian food, it is worth trying once. They have quite a variety of things there, little shops and little restaurants to check out. It is worth walking through.
However, if you don't want to dive in to busloads of map holding tourists, don't wish to put up with the lines and noise, for just average food - at high prices - I'd recommend going to a different spot.
It is an experience - but not a great place for a meal.
yum yum yum. I work two blocks away - my every (EVERY!) lunch I'm there - it's just super delicious!! pizzzzzzasssss are incredible! it's crowded, yes, it's a bit pricey, yes, but it's the best lunch i've ever had!
Worth the Visit. Met friends in the city 4th of July weekend. Wound up at Eataly - great market place full of Italian specialties. We decided to go up the the rooftop Beer Garden - Birreria. Definitely worth the visit. They make some of their own beers, plus a nice selection of bottled beer from Italy,Germany and the states. Food was good too! We had some nice fresh salads then went to town on the sausages! Worth checking this place out and kicking back for an hour or so.
WE LOVE THIS PLACE!. Me and my husband are addicted to this place! they have amazing food for every taste! amazing cheeses, fresh pastas made instore, fresh bread thats too die for (its nothing like the bread from your local bakery), and pizza to DIE FOR! u must check it out!
Foodie heaven. This place is fantastic! from some of the best espresso I have ever had, to the millions of delicious food options that overwhelm the indecisive. The market has pretty good pricing and the quality of the produce is fantastic. They carry many specialty hard to find items from the butcher to their bakery to their vegetables. I only have eaten at the pasta and pizza ristorante, where I ate my fill of the fantastic pizza and even more amazing lasagna. as for the lasagna, I could not believe how perfectly concocted it was. it was delicate, intricately layered and perfectly orchestrated. In a land of over portions, these were perfect. I am excited to go back and try some of the other restaurants. There charcuterrie looked fantastic, and vegetarian items amazing. like the great arnold schwarzenagger once said "I'll be Back"
Huge Letdown. I have spent many, many months eating my way around Italy and this is NOTHING like the food there. There is absolutely nothing special about the restaurants. As a grocery store it isn't bad. The groceries are way overpriced, but it does have a lot of really hard to find items. And the bakery has fantastic bread.
