Would not stay again- just okay. When I walked into the lobby of this hotel I thought I had walked into the wrong place. It looked like an airport. There were hundreds of people! There were easily 80-100 people in the sitting area with luggage. There were about 50 people in line to check in. There were people everywhere. After waiting 20 minutes I finally checked in, though when I saw the sign that said "portable smoke detectors available" I hesitated. The room was a decent size for NY standards. The 2 double beds were not the worst I've slept on but not the best. The heater/AC unit did not work- fortunately it was spring and I didn't need either. The phone didn't work in the room or in the common area near the elevators. There was no ice bucket and I had to wait 40 minutes for one. The blow dryer didn't work- my replacement never came. The window opened- I was shocked- but there was no screen. The TV had basic channels. The room was very old and outdated but I will say it did not smell at ALL. The bathroom was so old and pretty nasty. Layers of dust and grime on everything. Not a very good cleaning crew here! Only thing offered was shampoo and bar soap. When I called asking for a wine opened I was told they are not a full service hotel. There are a few little stores in the lobby. There are 2 restaurants but I did not eat at either. Not the worst hotel but far from the best. I paid $200- next time I'll pay a little more for a better place.
good & quiet hotel. NY for sure is not 5 star but anyhow good value for money. located on main street of town it is easy to reach by all means of transport, incl walking. It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals.us They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Very good hotel. I found my stay in the hotel last week a really great experience. The location could not of been any better it was so central to everything in New York. It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals.us They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Pleasantly Surprised. Very convenient location, (We arrived at Penn Station). The room was a very pleasant surprise! Big and roomy, even though some reviews had claimed otherwise. The location is great for exploring New York.
The Perfect Midtown Hotel. After a smooth flight to New York, we landed and hopped in a yellow cab to the Pennsylvania on 7th Ave. Not knowing what to expect being a first time visitor I was delighted when we pulled up to the hotel to see the old school glamor feeling it had. Walking through the grand entrance I was delighted, and even more so as we were taken aside out of the queue to check in. After booking a standard room, we were upgraded to an executive, which meant it was double the size. The bed was one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in in my life, the room was clean and tidy and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The perfect affordable midtown hotel that done exactly what we needed.
Location, location, location!!. Such a perfect location! The staff is great at getting things done fast. Great experience!
Wonderful location!. This hotel was great! It was clean, the maids came in every day with fresh towels, nothing weird. The location in New York is wonderful!
Fantastic Everything. The hotel was clean, the front desk and temporary luggage storage staff were extremely kind and helpful, our room on the 12th floor was great, and the hotel's location is simply fantastic. We stayed in a Penn 5000 room, so we had complimentary breakfast (bagels, pastries, and oj) every morning and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and Internet access 24 hours per day. I have absolutely no complaints.
Friendly, Efficient, and Helpful. The hotel staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful...all in a way that prevents a huge hotel from being impersonal.
