Logan Aguilar, custom tattoo artist at New York’s Paul Booth"s Last Rites Tattoo Theatre. 511 West 33rd Street 3rd floor. Between 10th and 11th avenues. (212) 529-0666 I’m an award winning tattoo artist with over a decade of experience specializing in photo realistic tattoos such as photo realistic portraits & color work. I believe the answer to bringing great artwork to life is to start off with your clients with Kindness. When you treat people with understanding and respect, they are more comfortable with expressing their ideas and the feeling that they want to be portrayed in their tattoo. Like creating music, it is important to "jam" with the client and together create something amazing. To create something that my clients could not have imagined even in their dreams, is the most fulfilling feeling that I can ever ask for
I got my first tattoo from Logan and I couldn't be happier with how it came out. From the colors to the details, truly amazing.
He's very open minded and easy to talk to. Walks you through the steps and makes you feel at ease. During the session, he checks with you to make sure the pain isn't overwhelming.
I highly recommend going to Logan for any type of tattoo. People always ask me who did I go to for my tattoo and I proudly say Logan Aguilar.
I learned of Logan through friend who has had much of his tattoo work done by him as well. When I saw the portrait on my friend's forearm I had to know who the artist was. I had been wanting a portrait/concept but was not sure of the right artist for the job. Luckily I found Logan.
I gave Logan the concept and some ideas for the portrait I wanted done which included a lot of color and detail (different kinds of flowers, jewelry, etc) he listened diligently and offered his expertise and suggestions to make sure we reached a level of understanding for the tattoo. I trusted his artistic vision and booked an appointment.
The day of my appointment, Logan showed me the picture he had put together for the tattoo and it was PERFECT! It was exactly what I had wanted in my mind, now clearly planned out and put into a visual. He had mentioned he was nervous about the color aspect of my tattoo, but at this point I felt nothing but pure trust and confidence that he would do an amazing job.
Logan was professional and understanding (of my pain tolerance) throughout the process. A few hours later, I had the most beautiful color portrait work I have ever seen on my back. Although most of his work at the time was black and grey, he clearly also has expert color portrait skills, because this is exceptional work.
I feel that I have a true one of a kind piece of art on my body and I couldnt be happier.
I recommend Logan to anyone if they want a talented artist for their custom tattoo work, he is a New York City GEM!
It took me awhile to write this review of Logan because for some reason I had trouble posting to this site. Now to the important things. To say that Logan is an incredible artist and tattoo artist would be an understatement. He did a portrait of my daughter who passed away in June of this year and it is nothing short of breathtaking. He is one of the best, if not THE best portrait tattoo artist I have ever seen. Not to mention he is also an incredible person as well. If you are looking to get a tattoo, especially a portrait, go to Logan....you will not be disappointed.
So, this guy is pretty much the man. I got my tattoo done I'd say about a month ago (I got judy garland on my shoulder blade) and not only was the healing process super smooth, but so was the experience as a whole. Logan is so personable and down to earth that you forget that you're actually being tattooed. He even scheduled it super late at night (8pm on Saturday) because he was so excited to do it and booked solid. Oh, and he also had a flight at 6 am the next morning and we finished past midnight. All in all, the best tattoo artist and you are foolish not to go to him!
I met Logan Aguilar at Maria Tash. I adore the people at Maria Tash and the great service they offer. I mentioned I wanted to get a new tattoo and they referred me to Logan. My first meeting with him he was very inviting, he was patient and gave great feedback all while being very professional(and very clean space which is important!). He did a beautiful job on my tattoo and made me feel completely comfortable. He's also an incredible artist and person! If your looking for a quality tattoo that will be awesome, timeless and perfectly done Logan is your man. Oh and he also keep me laughing which is always a plus to ease the experience!! ...And I'm definitely going back soon!!
Logan Aguilar, is the Best Tattoo artist ever!!!, not only the he is Amazing, he is so nice, patient, friendly, kind and pleasant . Thanks, Logan You Rock. everyone tells me the my tattoo is incredible, fantastic, I Love It!!!. The staff was very friendly. Thanks.
Beyond amazing! – Logan did a fantastic job of transforming an old crappy mistake I've had on my back for years. He is such an amazing artist with a down to earth and peaceful charm to him.
I highly recommend him. Now I'm craving to go back for a totally new piece of art :)
Best artist Ever!!! – Logan is the best tattoo artist I've ever worked with and will be the only artist that I'll ever have tattoo me. He is an A class person as well. He is not only talented but thoughtful, patient and understanding. He completed a half sleeve dedicated to my children and listened to everything that was important to me. The result was a gorgeous piece that i couldn't be happier with. He truly cared about me as a person, not just a customer. He is well booked but well worth any wait. You will NOT be disappointed.
Logan Rocks! – I don't live in the city (I live about 2000 miles away), but I researched Logan and found him friendly and welcoming, especially in light of his coveted position in the world of ink. Celebrated for his photorealism, he should also be celebrated for a warmth of spirit that transcends the artist-customer interchange - he made me feel like a friend, even though I came from a small town so far away and my expectations were nebulous, only finalizing in the last moments of his (perfectly translated) pen-strokes. Logan is imminently likable and doesn't judge. I love how well he captured the elephant lurking in me. The work he did on my back is amazing. I'm pissed off that more people aren't asking me to show them the work he did, and I can't wait to get my husband in for his first tat with Logan!
If you're looking for the best... – Logan is absolutely amazing. I recently went to him to get my first tattoo and was looking for something realistic, colorful, and original. If you're looking for a quick pick from a handout of pre-drawn tattoos, go elsewhere, because this man is a true artist. I got it on one of the supposedly most painful spots (side ribcage) and not only was he gentle, but I felt completely at ease. The hour I spent there felt like 15 minutes. He listened to everything I wanted and gave me a one of a kind, beautiful piece that I know I'll love forever. About a week after getting it done, I was interested in having him add to a few spots and he booked me a new appointment within a week.
If you're looking for a great experience, whether it's your first tattoo or your fiftieth, he's hands down the man to go to.
