Tips for 9 Restaurant

Really?.
a friend of mine and I were looking for a place to eat lunch and we saw lovely plated food and a "Lunch Special", plus they had outside seating, so "Why Not?" we though.
Bad move, our part.
First: We had an infant with us, and we asked for a high-chair. They said no problem.
Ten minutes later, no chair. I asked for one again, and they said they didn't have one.
Nice.
They asked what we wanted to drink, but by this time we knew what we wanted to eat, so we gave our order.
The waitress was lackadaisical. This was about fifteen-twenty minutes later.
So, another ten minutes passed, before we received our drinks.
By this time, the infant, is getting antsy. And so are we, for food.
Sadly, the waitress came back and informed us after another ten minutes past, that they were out of what I ordered.
Needless to say we walked out and went to another restaurant, that treats us like gold. (Vynl)
Walking by yesterday, I noticed that the place was dead, and EVERY PLACE around them was hopping. I guess we were not the only people with this problem.
Manga-e-bevi is missed dearly.

diamond in the rough. popped in for a glass of wine with a friend and stayed for a whole meal at the bar! the bartender was wonderful, offered great suggestions for the food and made amazing cocktails. also just really nice overall, which to a jaded new yorker means a lot. great crowd, room was different but in a good way. with all the places to eat on 8th and 9th ave, i would put this one at the top of my list. do NOT pass up on the chorizo crusted cod or the pot roast (melts in your mouth). the mustard butter is a great twist on the NY classic - it comes with a hot pretzel.
