Here's a detailed account of my experience at BHNY.

I had originally purchased the IPL/Microdermabrasion package from Amazon Local deals, but with Dr. Kavita's recommendation, I also added in a deep cleanse. I have pretty gruesome scars from acne, including boxcar and icepick scars, and I was told that my treatment would be much more efficient if these were cleaned out first. I'm very glad I made the decision to do this - Dr. Kavita knows and is confident about what she does and really looks at each patient individually as a whole - I would never have realized the trouble in my skin around my face was from a fungal scalp issue. She has great background in Chinese and Indian holistic medicine and uses pure natural products and herbs, which is definitely a plus. She's also a wonderful, friendly person in general and is easy to talk and relate with.

Dr. Kavita's assistants were also very kind and their skills were professional, and they made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I was taken great care of since the moment I walked in through the door to the moment I walked out. They also recognized that I was a student and tried to accommodate my budget as much as possible by offering packages and different treatment plans. I'm definitely considering their multiple treatment package (as soon as I find the financial means).

If anyone can give me back my healthy clear smooth skin, I know it's Dr. Kavita.

I got a microdermabrasion through Living Social I was happy with results. It was a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The Doctor is great and very knowledgeable.

Kavita is warm, smart and does a terrific job. The office is small but clean and she really knows her stuff. I had one of the best facial treatments ever there. Highly recommend!

Is Kavita Payyar an M.D.?. Thank you Kavita! I bought a Groupon for microdermobrasion & IPL at Beauty Health NY to treat my post-pregnancy melasma. Kavita Payyar and her staff are the only positive experiences I have ever had from purchasing a Groupon. Not only is my skin looking better, but I leave their office feeling better as everyone there is always very nice & polite. Yes, it can be hard to get an appointment with Kavita sometimes, but that is only because she is in demand and because she tries to be generous with her time with each and every one of her clients, giving them the best treatment and care she can. Kavita has the kindest of hearts and is very talented. She not only treats & takes care of my skin, but she also holistically treats my chronic pain and other ailments during my appointments with her, which I am so very appreciative of as not many people / doctors have been able to successfully treat or are even willing to address my chronic pain issues. Thank you Kavita!

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME TO GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I bought a Microdermabrasion deal for me and my sister on Living Social months ago. We had to wait about 2 months to be able to be seen. I was so excited to treat my sister to something special.

When I went there today with my sister, she was so DEGRADING to the both of us. I could not believe my ears.

She told my sister that she would not be able to do the treatment because her skin was infected. She made gestures with her hands and facial expressions that made my sister feel bad. Her skin was NOT INFECTED AT ALL. (My sister sees a dermatologist and recommended that she get some microderm treatments). She does have acne scars and I know that microdermabrasion helps to remove/fade those scars. She did offer to "cut" my sister's skin open so that she could "drain out the infection." Who does that? And does a "PROFESSIONAL" speak like that?

As for me on the other hand, she told me that I was a good candidate for the treatment but then she asked me questions that made me feel very uncomfortable. She said tell me about yourself, did you go to school? Where do you work? I told her I was unemployed at the moment and she asked me why didn't I go to college. (WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH A FACIAL?) I told her things had come up. This is when I felt the most degraded. She looked down with the most belittling look on her face as she scribbled something on paper. Was I here for an interview? Or a facial?

When I told her that I did not want to stay for the facial since my sister was not able to get the facial as well (as the big sister, I would never to do that to my little sister) she shoved her watch in my face and told me that she would not be able to refund my money since she could be seeing another client. WHAT KIND OF PERSON IS THIS? I hope she sees my review and reads it.

By the way, her secretary was very kind to us, she even offered us an umbrella as we were leaving.

She only got one star because her secretary was so kind.

After reading other reviews I am so glad that we did not go ahead with the facial. She seems unprofessional and thinks she is better than others.

I went to Dr. Kavita Payyar with cystic acne on my chin, desperate for anything to help me clear up my skin and prevent further breakouts. Before meeting her, I had spoken to doctors recommending that I go on birth control or very strong medications for the acne. Dr. Payyar gave me a diet regimen to follow, some Ayurvedic herb supplements, and regular acne treatments - an approach much more in line with how I wanted to heal my body. I began to see results within a month, and now, I consistently get compliments on my clear complexion :)

Wonderful Results!!. As an adult I'm get severe breakouts. Dr. Payyar told me stick with her and she would get my skin clean and perfect. I have been coming the office now faithfully since March and I see a big difference. The facials are truly working and unclogging all of my pores!! The IPL treatmeants have worked also on my broken veins on my face. The IPL is doing wonders also on my sun damage. Almost all of my brown spots are gone. I truly Love this place. Kavita truly takes the time out you derserve. Money well spent!!

Love the Doctor and staff. This was my first time in Beauty health NY, the receptionist was very warming and nice, I felt very comfortable and Kavita was great she explained the process to me in the way I would understand it. kavita also mentioned that I would see results in acouple of days, but as soon as I got home I saw the results and my boyfriend complimented my skin, told me it was glowing. I am more than satisfied I am going back, I am so happy I found this place plus Kavina makes you feel at home.:-)Will recommend this place to my friends.

Very good!!. Even if the office and the space for the treatment are so small, Kavita and her assistants are so kind that you forget the inconvenience. Immediately after the first treatment the skin of my face had appeared better less wrinkles, less red spots, less sun's signs. Kavita is very positive and I really suggest for very good result!!

GOOD DOCTOR. The office is small and make-shift. I initially found it a little disconcerting that you could hear everything from the treatment rooms as the partitions do not go all the way to the ceiling. All quite cramped. The girls out front are just lovely however, and super friendly. The Doctor was down to earth and gave me dermabrasion and oxygen with mask. My skin looked smoother after it. I think that there should be medical type paper sheets on the treatment beds rather than a rug. Much more hygienic. But was happy with the treatment and result.
