Big thank you to Neil who handled my
initial booking. Huge kudos to the two movers - JT and Keshean. They arrived early, were polite, took their shoes off and used the carpet runners, and worked hard. They had to overcome many obstacles in terms of odd sized furniture and stairs, etc. Everything arrived safely, and they came in under budget!!. A stressful time was made easy.
Gloria
I started off working with the Sale Rep
JULIA GREEN who was friendly, helpful, and made many promises. The promise she made of the quote was not kept as well as the "guarantee" she gave me of the delivery time.
On the day of the move, the movers were 2 hours late. (if you read the other reviews, the movers have been late on several occasions and theres always a poor excuse for it)
The quote she gave was not honored and the movers charged me an extra $300. Julia guaranteed this would NOT happen but in fact it did. I called to question this and was then put in touch with GALE (she calls herself the Dispatch)
Fast forward three weeks later and I still did not have any of my items. After calling them every day, they kept saying "its almost there", "book your elevator", "the driver will call you when hes near" or did not answer my calls at all. I had to block my number or call from a different line to event have my calls answered. During this whole time, I remained patient, polite, and tried working with them. They not only lied each time and the fact that I had to keep following up was frustrating in itself.
Finally after over 3 weeks of waiting, i received a call from a driver who said he was going to deliver everything the following day. I booked the elevator and waited and waited and waited. He did not show up, did not answer his calls, and GALE kept assuring me that she was working with me, and would get him there.
He finally called me hours later and stated that his truck was too large to get to my building and that I had to pay them more to get use of a smaller truck. Shocked at this, I contacted my building and they assured me that a truck his size COULD in fact enter the area and that many trucks had in the past. After I communicated this to the driver and owner of the truck, he verbally abused me, yelled and flat out refused. He said if I wanted my items, I would have to pay for a smaller truck - end of story.
Frustrated and feeling like I had no choice in the matter, I agreed and set up a delivery for the next day. Again, the driver did not show up or answer his calls. WHen I finally reached him, he said he could not find a smaller truck and that if I wanted my items, I"d have to get my own truck and pick them up! The entire reason I hired a moving company was so that I did not have to do the move myself! Left with no choice, I hired a Uhaul and made the journey to a remote truckers yard and got my items only to have big ticket items missing.
I spoke to GALE and she said she would find them and send them to me. I still dont have them.
I call them daily to follow up and they say they will call me back and never do. Instead Gale is argumentative, talks in circles, is defensive, and never resolves anything.
A week later, I saw the same sized truck completing a move into my building!! Rockland lied about not being able to deliver my items and instead just tried to get more money out of me. I contacted Gale and she still argues that it could not be done. AND i have a video proving it!
Its now been months and I"m still dealing with them to get these missing items, reimbursement for the truck I had to hire, and this company is a nightmare.
For anyone event considering hiring them PLEASE DO NOT. I'd even offer my moving help to you so that you would not have to go through what I and many other have. If you want more details email me.
If you have already given your deposit, get it back and find someone else!
A horrible company to work with in
every conceivable way.
They arrived 2 1/2 hours late without the courtesy of a telephone call. Moishe & Co. were able to load only half of our furniture because ANOTHER families furniture was in the truck. Moishe & Co. promised to return the following morning at 9:00AM only to arrive at 8:30PM (11 1/2 hours late). We then proceeded to my new home where they doubled the original price and demanded we pay them in cash without the courtesy of a receipt. Furthermore, it took an additional 2 hours to get our furniture off the truck which included police intervention.
In short, Moishe & Co. doubled the price of our original quote, it took 2 days to move our furniture, they ripped two of our $2,000. chairs, broke a number of Waterford crystal glasses, and we're downright rude.
This may be the manner in which Moishe & Co. treats their customers overseas but it is not the manner in which good, hard working people ought be treated in this country.
Do Not Use This Moving Company!!! This company is a living nightmare. We moved from NY to Fl back in August. We used this company to move all of our furnitures. They did not deliver on time as promised by the dispatcher/owner. Majority of our furnitures were damaged. We had many missing items, like both of our dining tables had missing legs. Our leather sofa was damaged and they lost the back cushions. Gale the owner is a liar and very unprofessional. She and her associate Elise will keep on promising to call back, and it never failed, they do not call you back! Movers that packed from NY were not professionals to begin with. They guaranteed professional movers, that is a lie, they are not professionals. Those movers made holes on our walls and scratched our hallways and floors. They could not figure out how to re-assemble bed frames and furnitures. All screws were missing. It is now October, 2 months had passed and we are still waiting for our missing items to be delivered. Gale claims that out of 200 jobs they did in August, we were the only family that had damaged furnitures and with missing items. Of course, knowing her short history with me, I do not believe her. I am writing this complaint hoping that no one else will experience our living nightmare.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It wasn't just one thing that went wrong, it was everything...In my 37 years of purchasing product & services, this takes the cake for the worst experience I have ever had. They guaranteed a delivery date and then missed it by 10 days. They left a pallet of furniture in their warehouse which arrived weeks later They lost a piece of my furniture and broke the frame of my couch. And they 'outsourced' my job twice (neither time their company delivered...in one case it was on a Ryder truck. And the furniture came the 2nd time just with a driver. So even though I paid $2,800 for what their contract said was loading and unloading, my boyfriend did it. And 3 separate times my parents drove 9 hours to help me unload when I was told my furniture would deliver and it never showed each occasion and no one bothered to call me to tell me in advance (or at all). I got no calls after the responsive sale person (who made all kinds of promises) got my business. No apologies, no credits, no nothing. Trust me, the guy who said any positive reviews for this company are fake is correct. They are not a legit company.
To start, any positive reviews you see of this company are completely FAKE. If you look at the date ranges of them this is a sure sign that the staff of the company has done them themselves. Read on to hear of my experience and if you choose not to, PLEASE DO NOT USE ROCKLAND M&M MOVERS. THEY LIE, CHARGE YOU EXTRA AND ARE UNETHICAL. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY BY DOING IT YOURSELF. THEY WILL MAKE ANY AND EVERY EXCUSE FOR NOT COMPLETING THEIR SERVICES.
I had a terrible experience with this company. Waited all day and they never showed up! I made SEVERAL calls to the owner/manager, Gale, throughout the day and she assured me they were coming, but they were running late because their forklift broke and they couldn not load the truck on time. My last call to Gale was at 4pm and she assured me they would be at my house by 6:30pm. At 7pm they still had not arrived so tried calling Gale again but the office was closed and her voice mail was full! At 8pm I get a call from the delivery driver who says that they would be here in 20 minutes! I told him I waited all day and it is too late in the evening now to deliver a whole house load of stuff! The truck came the next morning and I find out from one of the deliverymen that Gale lied! Their forklift never broke; they had just overbooked! On top of that, some of my stuff was broken. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - TRUST ME - THEY ARE BAD BUSINESS PEOPLE.
THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. Moving with Rockland Movers was the best experience I've ever had! After moving with a few other companies, I finally found one that accomplished all my needs. The movers were very professional, helpful, punctual, energetic and FAST!!! I had the best service when trying to get information about the move date, prices and last minute requirements with my building. Unlike other companies, they were truly interested in making me happy. The last thing that I expected was a courtesy e-mail from the company asking about the move. Rockland Movers wasn't only about the business but also about the desire to keep a customer happy and I AM HAPPY!
I just have to say this was a fabulous and 'moving' experience :)! From the sales person Thomes to the movers Dieago and John who moved me out of New York to the wonderful man who moved me in to my new home in Florida, Gorge, to Elinor who handled my acct between coasts, these people were real human beings. They were patient and sensitive to how unsettling it is to uproot yourself, they respectful of my things, they were exceptionally honest and even gave me a refund when at the very last moment I decided not to take some big items. What’s great about them also is they don’t transfer your stuff to other carriers mid- haul. The same guy who leaves NY arrives in California and nothing was missing or broken. I can’t say enough great things about each and every one of them and there is no way I would use anyone else ever again. Bless those boys ! Rockland Movers is definitly the way to go!
I work for a shipping company and have
quite a bit of experience facilitating both local and long distance moves. These guys are definitely unprofessional, rude, provide terrible (if any) customer service, and possibly a scam.
The first problem is that they were 3 hours late. This put us in a terrible position because we had reserved a freight elevator. These movers said it was "our fault" they were late because we hadn't told them how important it was for them to be on time. I wish I would have sent them away then and made other plans, but I gave them a second, and then a third chance, then I was stuck with their terrible "service".
Items arrived late to destination, with the glaring exception of one flatscreen television which seems to have "fallen off the back of the truck." When I called to complain about this, they didn't even ask my name, what the missing item was or where the items should have been. Without even asking my name, they just said "File a claim on this site" (which would lead me to paying $650 for out-of-court arbitration. The second time I called they asked "Don't you have your own insurance?"
As a shipper, I cannot overstate how unprofessional this response was. If it was up to customers to just contact their insurance every time something was lost or stolen, then Rockland Movers (MvanvdM Movers) would never have to be held accountable for their role in the loss/damage, which of course is just another part of their scam.
