California cuisine with local New York flavor.
I'm kicking myself for waiting almost five months since berkli parc's opening before visiting. It's hard to miss with its big windows, beautiful wood interior and corner spot on Delancey and Allen.
In desperate need of a pick-me-up, I ordered the Hazelnut Mocha. I'm not a coffee drinker. Most coffee is too bitter and leaves a stale aftertaste in my mouth. berkli parc's use of Queens' own Dallis Bros Coffee, however, was yummy deliciousness. The acidity was just right and my sweet tooth salutes you for the homemade marshmallow.
Inspired by the commercial where they show how making a good choice for breakfast leads to other good choices throughout the day, I got the Bacon, Egg & Sprout Sandwich on multi-grain bread from Balthazar. Yeah...a bacon, egg and cheese on a roll was what I really wanted but surprise! Runny egg with your first bite. This made what normally would have been a very dry and boring sandwich into a heavy weight contender for my mornings.
