Thiefs, no toilet paper, no robes, broken sauna. There's no toilet paper in the bathroom. No robes they ask you to change into. No bench to sit when changing. The massage was whack, and when I tried the sauna it's freezing in there. I checked my locker and I know someone went through my purse. My husbands shirt, pants and leather jacket were full of black shoe polish. What???? I cleaned it for him and there looking at us like we are crazy. What the hell is going on in this place? Shady, shady, shady. Close this place down.
Jewelry Stolen and Charged Twice! Shady Business Stay Away!.
I'm writing this review to warn all future customers of the shady dealings going on here. First I got my expensive jewelry stolen from my locker, then they double charged me and won't even refund the duplicate charge!
So here is what happened: I went for a massage on my birthday at York spa, since it's not recommended to wear any jewelry during the massage I took of my two gold necklaces worth close to 1,000 dollars and placed them in the locker provided. After the massage is finished, guess what? The necklaces are gone!
When I was looking fanatically in the locker room for my jewelry the owner insisted it's not the staff who stole them. The lockers are flimsy looking and definitely not secure at all. I called the police to file a report and even the officers think there should be some kind of surveillance equipment down in the waiting areas, because people do put their valuables in the locker and since there's no video footage there's nothing the police can do to investigate the theft. I was heartbroken but the spa was very unsympathetic about the crime.
A week later as I was checking my credit card statement I noticed there are two charges of the exact same amount from York Spa. I contacted my credit card company right away to check if there has been a mistake. They assured me that my card was charged twice, once on the day of the service and another time the day after. I contacted the spa to get the refund and they told me I have to go in person to show them my credit card statement. After work I made my way there and showed them the statement and the receptionist insisted that they only charged me once even though my credit card statement shows otherwise. At that point I decided there's no point dealing with such a shady business and called my credit card company to open a dispute.
If you don't want your valuables stolen from you and get charged twice, please stay away!
We have the police report which states the client DID NOT lock her locker. She was told personally by the receptionist to lock her locker and to take the key with her. We have cameras in the lounge showing the only people to go into the locker room was the client herself and a second client. There are no cameras in the actual locker room. The client leaves out that the police officers found it strange that only her necklaces were stolen while her wallet, purse, and credit cards were left untouch. The double charge has been refunded, and we have ensured that the error will not happen again. We have tried our absolute best to help her, but we cannot be held responsible for her negligence. She did not lock her locker, there is no evidence that she was wearing necklaces, the police report shows that our business is NOT at fault, this is the ONLY complaint we've received against the spa. We have responded personally to every letter she has written and hope the matter comes to an end soon.

This was my first trip to York Spa in New York and I'm so glad I finally did it! It's a beautiful spa with gorgeous, clean, comfortable decor. Stress on the clean! That's a big deal to me.
Today I had three treatments. Truly, I could go on all day about this amazing experience, but I'll stop so that you can call and book an appointment.
