High-caliber classical on the cheap.. New York's premiere conservatory features two major and many minor recital halls, and many free and inexpensive professional-quality concerts.

Juilliard Theater
Juilliard's main venue for faculty recitals, opera, and dance (the school's orchestra concerts are usually in Alice Tully Hall). The theater, with its steeply raked ground floor and balcony, has excellent sight lines from its 933 seats to the deep proscenium stage. Wood paneling provides good acoustics, and a movable ceiling allows the room's dimensions to be customized to suit the event. The entrance is located on the north side of 65th Street, under the Milstein Plaza overpass.
