Bad,bad experience.My family of 3 and another couple attended Sushi Cruise on Sept 29th. We made a reservation in advance, but were seated at a small table where we were cramped thru the course of our dinner. Restaurant staff refused to give us bigger table. During the ordering of the food waiters changed and eventually they mixed up some entrees and they did not bring some of them at all. Half of our group were missing chopsticks and waiters had trouble providing us with ones. When we pointed out the mess the water's response was rude and unaccommodating. Finally, the food was not good. The rice was hard and gave an impression that it was not freshly made. Part of seafood was not chewable. Overall experience with this restaurant was very poor. The only positive side of Sushi Cruise was a nice Hudson river view , but you can find a lot of better and cheaper places to enjoy views
I was here yesterday with a Doctor client. We arrived around 8:15pm. After mingling about business etc. we decided to place an order around 8:45. The waiter kept telling me hurry up, we close in an hour. I said no worries, but when a customer is sitting down and about to have a meal, you shouldnt be saying this. He said, we have to eat too. I felt like getting up at that moment and leaving, but i had a client with me, and it would have been frowned upon. Then they came around the tables around 9:20 pm saying "last call". Then, Literally at 9:40 pm, the waiter put down our check and walked away. This is mostly seen at lower end restaurants. At exactly 9:55 pm, the kitchen was closed, and all the workers were literally walking out of the place. After leaving the restaurant around 10pm, i complained to the manager or owner, didnt know exactly who he was. I said I felt rushed and that this was no way to treat customers. He didnt say sorry or anything. I said you lost some customers, he sarcastically said, its ok. This type of attitude should never be accepted.
The next day, one of my friends is going out to get sushi with her daughter. She lives about 5 minutes from this place, I asked where she was going, she said Sushi Cruise. I told her DON'T go there, that she would regret it. By the time she read my text, she had already sat down and ordered. After asking how her experience was, she felt the same exact way as me. She felt rushed, annoyed, and hardly touched her food.
I will NEVER go to this place again. The food was ok, but the service to the management really need to change. They will be losing a lot of business if this continues. Please BEWARE when going here. If you go with your clients, friends and/or family, make sure you get there early or else you won't feel like a customer, but just someone holding them up from closing at 9:55 pm.
Let me begin by saying that this review has zero to do with the food at Sushi Cruise - the service and management at this restaurant is ABHORRENT. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and hope anyone reading this review won't either.
My take out orders have been ruined 4 times by this restaurant. (1st time - they gave my order to someone else, 2nd time & 3rd time - they forgot two of the rolls I ordered, 4th time - I was told that my order of Ton Katsu was misheard as my name being 'Tom'). So after the fourth time, I told the woman at the cashier that I never said my name was 'Tom' - she started LAUGHING IN MY FACE and didn't provide any alternative solutions (which led to me having to go to McDonald's to get dinner for a guest in my home - super classy). I called the manager of the restaurant the next day and after explaining my situation, was told that he could not deal with the situation and was subsequently hung up on THREE DIFFERENT TIMES.
The service when I have gone to eat there is equally awful - the servers don't understand English, repeatedly get orders wrong and are slow and unaccomodating. I implore you to get your mediocre sushi elsewhere - people this deficient in customer service don't deserve anyone's business.
