Everyone Must go to Butter Lane!. I had seen Butter lane on a television show and wanted to try it during a recent trip to NYC and totally forgot, but I just happened to be walking past it and looked up and RAN across the street to it, and it was worth it!! I'm so glad I didn't miss out on this!! The cupcakes were so moist and delicious...absolutely perfect!! I would move to NYC to be able to have these more often!

Mmm, This is Near Perfection. Butter Lane is definitely one of my favorite cupcake locations in the city. I tried it during the Taste of 7th Street Festival and went for the the vanilla with coconut frosting and chocolate with espresso frosting. Both were amazing with moist, flavorful cakes and rich, but not too sugary, frosting. I love, love, love this place!

A tasty return to the classic cupcake. Butter Lane's cupcakes are good, "old school" style treats (compared to some of the ginormous and overwhelming concoctions places like Crumbs are coming out with these days.) Very unsuspecting, very fresh, and you mix n match the cake + frosting you want. The place smells like pure butter and sugar, hard to resist entering without making a purchase. They also sell delicious hot apple cider for those cold days.

In the fall, I got the seasonal offering of pumpkin spice frosting on (at the misguided request of the cupcakette working behind the counter) chocolate cake. Fresh, moist and not overpowered with frosting which is fabulous. Individually, the frosting and cake were great but the pumpkin spice/choc combo wasn't a match made in heaven. Such is the risk of allowing shoppers to mix n match cakes + frostings.

Still, there is something about this place that screams excellence. Local, organic ingredients and a website that proclaims "We think of it as cupcakes for grownups." I like.

I'm still trying to decide if $3 a cupcake is too much or in line with what cupcakeries are charging these days.

One of the best cupcakes in the city. Butter Lane has one of the best cupcakes in the city. I wish I could give them 5 stars. But they still need some room for improvement. So, I will give them 4 stars for now.

Top Cupcakes in Manhattan. Came here again for the Taste of 7th St and i got two cucpakes from here. Butter Lane is known for the high quality frosting and soft and moist cakes. They have cakes of Banana, chocolate and Vanilla and for frosting there are chocolate, maple pecan, rasperry, strawberry, espresso and more.

I am always happy to have their cupcakes and all I can say is save your stomach for these sweets!

great cupcakes.... this is a tiny little cupcake shop in the perfect location. great variety and taste. i was a tru devote of sugar sweet sunshine, which is in the same neighborhood, but now i am all about this place. def worth a stop if you are in the area. only drawback, 3 dollars a cupcake !?! but they use organic dairy
